Did you rule out the obvious explanation, i.e., that this Mac had a previous owner, and the previous owner invoked Find My Mac at some point? As to a culprit, I would look to the reseller from whom you bought this machine and not Apple itself. Help: OSC + DSSI not working, at least on openSUSE

Hi list. Strange problem here. Any verification especially on other OSs, solutions, comments, observations appreciated. Neither QTractor nor MusE will open any DSSI gui here on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed x86 64 bit. I have built liblo-0.29, and to test, Hexter 1.0.3, and removed their SUSE packages. Same problem. I traced the problem. liblo *silently* fails: liblo: src/address.c: line 594: if ((ret = getaddrinfo(host, lo_address_get_port(a), &hints, &ai))) ... Something further to do? The only difference I see is host "linux-2lbs" vs. "localhost" but the former is in fact my machine name. Hexter does a few tricks to run in test mode, so I'm not sure how relevant the second test is (with "hexter -test"). Thanks. Tim. The MusE Sequencer project.

[ANN] Vee One Suite 0.8.5 - An Autumn'17 release

The 'Vee One Suite' of so called 'old-school' software instruments, synthv1 [1] as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer, samplv1 [2] a polyphonic sampler synthesizer, drumkv1 [3] as yet another drum-kit sampler and padthv1 [4] as a polyphonic additive synthesizer, are here released for the seasonal greetings. All still available in dual form: - a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session [5], NSM (Non Session management [6]) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI [7] input support; - a LV2 instrument plug-in [8]. The common change-log for this Fall goes like this: - Sample files are now saved as symlinks when saving to JACK and/or NSM session directories/folders (applies to samplv1 [2] and drumkv1 [3] only). - Opening multiple preset files is now possible, populating the preset drop-down listing, while only the first one is loaded effectively into the scene as usual. - Mono(phonic) "Legato" mode option introduced. - Desktop entry specification file is now finally independent from all build/configure template chains, whatever. - Updated target path for freedesktop.org's AppStream metainfo file (formerly AppData). jalv.select release v0.9

jalv.select is a little gtkmm GUI to select lv2 plugs from a list and run them with jalv. Features: select jalv interpreter from combo box, select LV2 plugin from list, select preset to load from menu, search plugins by regex or plugin class, reload lilv world to catch new installed plugins or presets, load plugin with selected preset, minimize app to systray (global Hotkey SHIFT+ESCAPE), wake up app from systray (global Hotkey SHIFT+ESCAPE): left mouse click on systray to show or hide app right mouse click to show quit menu item command-line start-up options: beside that, you could now mark plugs as your "Favorite" to concatenate them to a Favorite list. "Sonoj", a community organized event about Open Source Music Production struggles to get funded. Please help

For that we are asking for some modest donations here: https://www.startnext.com/en/sonoj Currently it looks like that this will not succeed, as you can see from the link above. This is the usual "all or nothing" platform that only gives you money if the goal is reached, otherwise donors get their money back. However, despite submitting the event announcements and several updates to nearly one hundred on-topic websites, magazines (including posting it ourselves on KVR, Reddit etc.) and blogs there is nearly zero response. That excludes the Linux Audio Scene itself, which was very supportive to this day (at least the news, not the donations). I was hoping that Sonoj could be an event that brings in people from the "outside", that are not already well connected with Linux Audio. It seems I was wrong. So here I am in one of the last places I wanted to ask for donations, because this is the crowd that usually already gives a lot, be it their own time, development of software or actual donations to well deserving projects.
