A few pieces of news in regards to this idea.
I have registered musicwiki.org, and I have arranged for hosting, but for
some damn reason, DomainBank doesn't want to update whois to reflect the
new host. This is really ticking me off, as I have *never* had it take
three days (or more) to get whois updated. I have a support request in to
see if I can find out what is going on. I have a feeling this is the last
time I use this registrar, which is sad, seeing as it's my first time
using them.
I really wish PairNIC hadn't kept choking on my card. Anyone know any
other registrars they like?
Anyway, as soon as I have a complete wiki up and running I'll let everyone
know. I just wanted to make sure you all know this has not died.
Regards,
Darren Landrum
Hi, is there a tool for extracting all wave files from a soundfont?
I've tried with swami but the export feature doesn't work.. :(
Thanks

Its very simple. Unmount, edit /etc/fstab and change ext3 to ext2, mount.
To convert back, reverse the process.
And get a paperback novel to read if you ever have to fsck...
Hello LAU people
I am currently compiling a review of collaborative, networked music
creation systems. (e.g. res rocket). Can anyone point me at any linux
ones?
i've got these so far:
The OpenSound Control Kit
http://cnmat.cnmat.berkeley.edu/OSC/Kit/
The Network Audio System (NAS)
http://radscan.com/nas.html
Transis
http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/labs/transis/software.html
If anyone knows of any network distributed genetic algorithms for music
composition, that'd be even more useful.
cheers
matthew
Hi all,
Please excuse the crosspost (I know many of you are on some other mailing lists I have announced to already).
Linux audio software is being used extensively for the performances announced below. Namely PD, terminatorX, and ZynAddSubFx.

It's safest to plug the equipment all into the same circuit.

Changes at http://pan.zipcon.net
1) header info now on all files
2) 7 recordings are added: 4 flute, 1 piano, 1 duo-piano and 1 bassoon
3) TO DO: record jacket info
Thanks for the many comments and criticisms. They are needed.
The quality of the added recordings varies. We think the 2-piano recording
is a demo recording for ogg; some of the others are of marginal quality.
However there are those who will want them.
Download at any time. However downloading from 1PM to 1AM PST may be subject
to interruption. Of late there have been more mp3 users than ogg.
Hallo,
my Edirol UA-20 USB audio device has arrived, and I also got it to
work: It was almost plug and play. But now I have a serious problem,
and that is noise when moving the mouse. I'm at loss what to do.
Everytime I move the pointer with mouse or touchpad on my Acer
Travelmade, the UA-20 produces nasty screetching, crackling and
scratching. This doesn't happen, when I unplug the power supply. The
UA-20 gets its power from the USB-port, so I suspect that this creates
the conflicts.
Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of this noise? Or should I
send back the USB device?
Thanks for any help...
ciao
