- improved filter interpolation
- bugfix: wav header is written correctly
- bugfix: NRPN works correctly (eg:the
controller was 0x98 instead of 98), now you can
controll all effects parametrer realtime via MIDI
- bugfix: pitch bend works OK in windows
- added master fine detune (-64..63 cents)
- it is possible to swap effects or copy them
- started to port ZynAddSubFX to VST (not
functional, yet)
- the resonace can protect the fundamental freq.

Hi Group,
I am thinking of buying a notebok or subnotebook. However I don't know
which one to get?
Here are some requirements the notebook should meet:
1. Runnable with Linux (of course!)
2. Reasonable sound support (recording and playback at least)
3. jack and adour should be able to run
4. WLAN (either build in or via PC-Card)
What notebooks do you use? What are your experiences?
Any help or advice is appreciated.

Dear all,
Just a quick introduction before I get to the problem.
I have a lot of Windows experience of one sort and another, upon which I
develop in Python. I'm new to Linux. I veiw make , kernels ,device
drivers with a fair degree of trepedation.
I have a Roland UA-100 which worked correctly on this machine using
Win2K. I have cleaned windows off the machine and loaded Mandrake 9.0
and have been attempting to work through

I have altered the make files and loaded up Motif et al. and the file
now make and make install run with no errors.
Upon restarting the machine I find in /var/log/syslog

I'm a bit stumped here because I don't understand how the .o file can be
prduced if there are un-resolved sysmbols.
I also notice I have no audio facilites listed in the Mandrake Control
Centre. Does this machine believe it has no audio, and could somebody
please elaborate if at all possible?

just wondering if anyone here is using a dell latitude cpx and if there
are any issues installing linux on it?... or any known sound config issues?
i am lamenting the sad demise of my thinkpad which blew a gasket last
night :-(((. actually its going to be fine, its just the power socket
has worked itself loose or blown a fuse (i.e. it boots fine from the
battery which is by now very flat).
so i had to get a new machine today... gasp! wasnt planning on that
right away but as im writing a book, i've gotta keep working! the plan
is to wait until my friend who knows how to repair the power socket is
back from the USA.
other issue i'm wondering about is installing linux alongside windows
(barf!) xp... ughh... i swore i'd never use XP but its come pre
installed. borg edition, yuck.... but i need it for work.
so i'm thinking maybe with xp being so difficult, running lnx4win might
be an idea, but would this be more demanding on system resources?
i'd like to partition the drive but im not sure how to go about this on
XP... yuk yuk yuk... win2k was easy enough though.... *sigh*....
any ideas muchly appreciated :)

Hi,
I want to make audio CDs which are playable in hifi CD players. I wish
to burn in steps, yet have the CD playable before final fixation. So
far I have made a lot of coasters. How would the command line read in
order to achieve my goal?
cdrecord -multi speed=4 dev=0,0,0 *.wav
cdrecord -nofix speed=4 dev=0,0,0 *.wav
these will burn a CD which isn't recognised by my hifi CD player until
cdrecord -fix dev=0,0,0
Fixes the disk and allows playing of tracks, allows further burns but
these are not accessible by the CD player as the toc doesn't identify them.
Sadly I am able to create such disks on windoze with Easy CD Creator.
If cdrecord cannot allow this, what is the difference? I'm using
version 1.1.

I just got myself a nice Digi96/8, and compiled alsa drivers.
Works fine, but it's just doing spdif, I don't know how to make a asound.conf to put it on ADAT, which is what I want, because I want 8 in stead of 2 channels.
I cannot find any adat related asoundrc options on the alsa support pages, but I did saw someone named 'Olaf Titel' in the archives of this list who was using ADAT with alsa, linux and ecasound, which is exactly what I want.
Does anyone here have adat with RME Digi96/8 working with alsa?

(putting plugins into categories) code it became obvious the the current
taxonomy wasn't really useful.
