Yes/No, I'm talking about PearPC. I just got the idea that it could be
easier to run vst plugin this way as I only heard stuff from wine...
(and the "difficulty" of installing it) But probably the running an
entire vst host in a mac's emulation would cost to much cpu usage. At
least if you want to have ardour, seq24, and some others working at the
same time... Could an other way be a kind of [fst+pearpc for the gui].

Hello again, all.
A couple of quite different tracks, and the start of some
documentation on how I use trackers.

Now, back to work.

Hi!
Probably one more stupid idea from me, but here it is:
Does someone already try to run a vst plugin under linux through a mac's
emulation instead of a windows one? May be it could give less problems
than the wine install... Well I write this because a friend install a
mac emulator and told me it works really good! (but he didn't use it for
audio purpose)
I don't have any knowlege about emulation, but if mac's stuff is based
on unix, then it might easier for vst in linux?

Hi James,
I like these two tracks very much - nice sounds.
"The Fluff" has a really good ambient feel to it.
Thanks for sharing,
Gavin.

Greetings:
Last month I updated the VST/Linux tutorial at
http://www.djcj.org/LAU/quicktoots/toots/vst-plugins/. Due to
circumstances, the updated page has only recently gone on-line, but no
further material needed to be added.
Please note that this update is the last that will be done for that
tutorial. As you can read on the updated page, I now feel that the FST
and DSSI projects are the currently preferred solutions for using
VST/VSTi plugins under Linux. Both systems are easy to build and use, so
I'll leave further explication to the developers of those projects.
I suppose at some point someone should add some material regarding the
use of VST plugins with Ardour, but it should really go on the Ardour
wiki (or maybe it is already there?).
Thanks to Patrick Shirkey for hosting this tutorial on his djcj site.
Best regards,
dp
Why would kernel 2.6.14 not work for low latency using limits.conf? I have
these settings:
* - rtprio 0
* - nice 0
@audio - rtprio 80
@audio - nice -10
@audio - memlock 250000
Pam is version 0.81-1. Everything works fine in root.
Hey there,
Just wanted to let all y'all know that my band, Capillary Action is
going to be touring the South and East Coast from Dec. 28th to Feb.
2nd. I play bass in the band and do some laptop stuff on my gentoo box
with PD. I'm probably not going to be incorporating the laptop stuff
at the beginning of the tour, cause I'm still working out some kinks,
but maybe if you catch one of the later shows.
Check out the tour dates:

Thanks for letting me abuse the list!

My native soundcard is not full eqquiped in input/output port that why
i'm searching for a soundcard with rca/xlr/jack connections.

Hello - I am new to the mailing list so please excuse any errors I may make in
asking questions.
I am running an updated ARCH (7.1) linux box. The standard kernel is
2.6.14.4 and I am having no luck with real time using limits.conf. Other ARCH
linux users report success using this method with no additional
configuration. I get a lot of xruns. Pam version is > .80. As root, I can
get latency down to 5ms or so. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
