Or it could be the Texas Instrument's chip which Kraftwerk used.
This chip is by somebody else.

I forgot to place the mp3 file available:
http://www.funet.fi/~kouhia/allowords.mp3
It goes through the WORDS file included in package ("cat WORDS | allo").
For them who don't want compile.

I once heard (on an NPR station as I drove through Harrisburg, Pa., sometime,
iirc, between 1979 and 1986) an electronic piece that I liked very much. I
remember only that the announcer described it as something like the
(electronic(?)...) New World Symphony. Also, my impression was that the
artist was in the studio with the announcer, so it may not have been a
published recording at the time.
Is anyone aware of any electronic versions of the New World Symphony that
existed (but perhaps not officially recorded) before 1986?
Thanks,
Randy Kramer
Hi, I just got hold of an SBLive5.1 Digital. I can only get Synth sound my
selecting the Synth capture, then routing alsa_capture to alsa_playback, but
this means I can't use the line in for recording. The 'Music' slider is
missing from all the the mixer interfaces. I also have'nt got a clue about
all the routing options or effects routing options. Aynone got a good URL ?
It /proc and sfxload report 128Mb available for SoundFonts (Specs say 32Mb),
and it works. Did they change the specs or somthing ?
Cheers,
Bruce.
Hi guys,
I have a small (I hope:-) problem: my system is based on FC3
PlanetCCRMA@Home and HDSP9652.
When I start and log in all HDSP9652 channels are muted: as soon as I open
HDSPMixer all channels are set correcly (I mean i do not have to move
slides, etc...) and sounds comes out.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have all channels unmuted without
starting HDSPMixer?
Thanks!
Michele

OK, I looked at the program, and although I'm not too sure how it
works, I came across what may be a bad omen: listing devices (amidi -l)
doesn't respond with any devices.
Also,
$ amidi -S 12
responds with
ALSA lib rawmidi_hw.c:231:(snd_rawmidi_hw_open) open /dev/snd/midiCODO
failed: No such device
cannot open port "default": No such device

I seem to have sound now through my SB Live card, but none through my
EMU 0404. I don't think there are any drivers written for it. If I
unmute the alsamixer volumes and the run "/usr/sbin/alsactl store", will
it remain unmuted through successive reboots?
Thanks

Well that's not quite the problem. I guess what I'm looking for is a
simple program that will respond to MIDI input, once it is connected.
I'm trying to diagnose whether the keyboard has been recognized.
Thanks,
Kevin

in qjackctl I have 62:Midi Through as a parent and 0:Midi Through
Port-0 as child in both readable and writable clients.

snd-seq-midi is one of the loaded modules. I have noticed that
snd-mpu401-uart is listed in aadebug. I'll try adding it to
/etc/modules. In the meantime, what I'm looking for is a simple test
program that when I press on a key from the keyboard, something lights
up or sounds to tell me that it's connected and working in some fashion.

Hi,
I installed Agnula this weekend and really like how everything is
working so far. I have a little problem though. I have a MIDI
keyboard connected to my computer (unfortunately I only have onboard
sound right now) that I've used before under windows. I'm sure it will
work; what I'm looking for is a simple test to see if it is working or
not. I fooled around with some of the MIDI programs but with some of
them it's to tell if I'm just not using it properly or if there is no
MIDI device.
Thanks a lot,
Kevin
