Due some live things I decided to release horgand-1.14.

Also you can try the DSSI plugin available on the website.
NEWS
----------
Hundreds of new presets (Strings, Brass, ... ) availables on the website.
Five new waveforms.
All the waveforms are available for LFO and DSP effects.
Back to ALSA if JACK is not available.
Code improved for less CPU usage.
Some minor bugs fixed.

Hallo.
I posted to the jackit-devel list too, so apologies if you're seeing this
again. No luck there...
jackd version 0.103.0 tmpdir /dev/shm protocol 16
2.6.22.1-rt9
Debian testing
I've just noticed that I am unable to set jackd priority on the command
line. I have a script set up to use "sudo chrt" to change it, but when I
comment out that line in the script, jackd runs at 0 with schedule "other".
My script:
sudo chrt -fp 82 `pidof "IRQ-16"`
jackd --realtime -P 70 -dalsa -P -p256 -n2 -r44100 &
sudo chrt -fp 70 `pidof "jackd"`
chrt -p `pidof "IRQ-16"`
chrt -p `pidof "jackd"`
exit
If I comment out the second sudo chrt line, the last line returns:
pid 5032's current scheduling policy: SCHED_OTHER
pid 5032's current scheduling priority: 0
otherwise it is SCHED_FF and 70.
My kernel has:
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE is not set
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY is not set
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_DESKTOP is not set
CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT_SOFTIRQS=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT_HARDIRQS=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT_BKL=y
# CONFIG_CLASSIC_RCU is not set
CONFIG_PREEMPT_RCU=y
/etc/security/limits.conf has:
@audio - nice -10
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - memlock 4000000 (someone on the jack list suggested
that my previous value "unlimited" was not recognized, so I stuck this in
but no change)
and user "chuckk" is in group "audio".
Lastly, the output from my script when the second sudo chrt line is
commented out:

Yesterday it worked - could read and play MIDI through my keyboard, or
fluidsynth, and play regular audio stuff.
Today, when I started up the system, KDE tells me:
> Sound server informational message:
> Error while initializing the sound driver:
> device: default can't be opened for playback (No such file or directory)
> The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
I use ALSA and the system is usually set for Autodetect, but get the
same results if I select ALSA. I should have known that nothing really
works "out of the box" with Linux ;-) What the hey happened and how can
I fix it?
Running Debian testing. Did not update anything between the time it
worked and now.

Hi,
A bit over a month ago my BCF2000 was working just fine. I
didn't have to do much special with it, just plug it in via USB,
turn it on, and put it into "Logic Control" mode. Then it would
show up in /proc/asound as card3. But, now it doesn't show up in
/proc/asound. No messages appear in /var/log/messages. Where
should I start to troubleshoot this?
Thanks....

Hi People,
I'm trying to buy a Digital Audio Interface that works on Linux
(Ubuntustudio). I just came from the freeBoB site and I'm thinking in
buying the Edirol FA-101, who thinks this is the best option?
thanks,
Lobo
Hello again folks,
has anyone got some tips on Vocal F/X to achieve the voice typical to
Black/Death Metal music?
I'm interested in performing them, but don't want to ruin my voice.
So perhaps there's a nice vocoder carrier for this, or a certain
plugin chain?
Lots of thanks.

Yes, that is what I thought too. But I used the "-f dat" option while
recording, which according to arecord's manpage should have given me 48000
Hz sampling rate. Based on this, I had converted au->flac by specifying
48KHz sampling rate.
In audacity I had to reduce the speed (Effects menu) by around 8% to make
the audio replay properly ... this corresponds to 44.1 KHz. (If I forced
audacity to 44.1 KHz from its GUI (lower left), it wouldn't play the track
at all)
So the "-f dat" option of arecord actually recorded at 44.1 KHz and not at
48 KHz !?
Here is the exact command that I used:
$> arecord -D plug:hw:1 --duration=6300 --file-type au --format=dat
--nonblock `date +%Y%m%d%H%m%S`.au

a2jmidid is daemon for exposing legacy ALSA sequencer applications in
JACK MIDI system. It is based on jack-alsamidi-0.5 (jackd alsa seq midi
backend) by Dmitry Baikov. The main purpose is to ease usage of legacy,
not JACK-ified apps, in JACK MIDI enabled systems.
New in this release is addition of configure script (autotools) that
enables compatibility with different JACK MIDI API variants.
Planned features/improvements:
* One JACK client per ALSA sequencer client
* More control on what ports to bridge (currently bridging is fixed to
non-hardware ports).
* Real daemonization with log file, init.d script, etc.
If someone wants to contribute please, contact me, or send patches, or
request inclusion (Gna! a2jmidid project). As usual, packagers are more
than welcome too.
