Dear list members,
On the 1st of march at 0h00 GMT, the three LA* lists will be moved to
linuxaudio.org. What will it change for you ? not much :
¤ The new address you send your posts to will be :
linux-audio-announce(a)linuxaudio.org for LAA
linux-audio-dev(a)linuxaudio.org for LAD
linux-audio-user(a)linuxaudio.org for LAU
¤ All the user currently subscribed will be migrated automatically,
you do NOT need to create a new account
¤ Your password will be reset in the process, so will your parameters.
Sorry we cannot do better than this... To get a password reminder (the
first one should be automatically generated), you will find the lists
home page at http://lists.linuxaudio.org/
¤ The former addresses will still be valid, but when you will post to
them, you will receive a reminder asking you to post on the new list.
To avoid having duplicates when merging archives, the posts on the
former addresses _will not be received_ by the list members.
¤ We will have a bigger and faster server, a spamassasin setup and
interfacing with mailman is also in progress so administration will be
easier _and_ moderation will be less pain (thus faster to do).
I hope everything will go smoothly. If any of you run into trouble I
will be on #LAD(a)freenode.net during the migration and available at
"mobarre at linuxaudio dot org" which will be the new list admin
address to help you with anything you'd need.
Cheers,

Regarding JOST, are we talking about VST plug-ins natively compiled
for Linux?
If so, I've missed a lot while two months unsubscribed...
Any links welcome!

Hello list, jackd is shutting down (seemingly randomly) with the
message "zombified - calling shutdown handler".
I am using:
ubuntu feisty latest updates with ubuntustudio packages
Dell Inspiron 630m laptop, 1g ram, pentium m 1.73 ghz
Edirol FA-101 firewire
qjackctl 0.2.21-1
jackd 0.102.20
libfreebob 1.0.0-3
kernel 2.6.20-8-lowlatency
I added the following to limits.conf for pam stuff (I think)
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - memlock 250000
@audio - nice -10
jack startup command (from qjackctl, I've tried different settings
with sporadic results)
jackd -R -dfreebob -dhw:0 -r44100 -p512 -n2 -i10 -o10
I'm really lost as to what the problem is (I'm no linux guru) and my
settings are only based on copying and pasting from guides around the
net. So if anyone can explain why this is happening or where I've
gone wrong in my setup I would be very grateful.
thanks,
grae

Sure, almost all of my music at
http://www.notam02.no/~kjetism/mp3/ are made with trackers, using octamed
or radium. There's no dance beat music in there.

Thanks a lot for your comments!
And you are right with the nitpicks, especially with the kick drum. Let's just say I thought I should fix it, but like so many times before I just had to let it go .. for my peace of mind, or whatever.
Great comments, thanks!

Yep, it's samples from Hydrogen but everything is played with this cheapo drumset. I am not happy with the crash cymbal, but it works.

You are right, check out the space - it's veeery small room: http://www.emvg.net/esa/garage/img013.jpeg

OK, sorry about that. I have the Finnish Teosto license, and you can't redistribute the songs.
