Hello everyone,
My blog, Linux Rock Star has been a little slow
lately, and I'm looking for some good articles, tutorials, interviews
or other submissions. If anyone would like to submit something, I'll
send them a free Linux Rock Star logo keychain (if I decide to publish
the article). It should be at least 300 words. Screenshots are
appreciated.
If you're interested, please write me at downerczx_AT_yahoo.com.
here's the blog: http://www.linuxrockstar.com
and here's the post about the offer:

thanks!

hi list,
this is from the ardour bug tracker:
'Maybe in the docs, there should be added that not all cd-writers
support CD-text. This can be confusing when you are an unlucky guy (like
me) that has such an el cheapo cd-writer.'
that would explain to me, why after successfully exporting a toc file
and burning a cda, i just cannot find any cd-text on it!
is someone of you aware of it, how one can find out, if the cd-burner is
supporting a cd-text?
cheers,
doc

I have 2.6.20, use with realtime-lsm. How does this compare, effect the rt-8
patch?
Where do I get 2.6.20.1 and the patch?
Hi
I set out to compile jack 0.102.20 under debian/etch. That was easy. Now
for qjackctl. If I want to install it it will pull old jack with it:
ajstrup:~# apt-get install qjackctl
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
libjack0.100.0-0
<snip>
That's not good, right?
Well, I thought I'd just install qjackctl from source, grabed it
(0.2.21) and (after figuring how to set QTDIR) I got this far
("./configure"):
<snip>
checking whether gcc needs -traditional... no
checking whether QTDIR environment variable is set... /usr/include/qt3/
checking for main in -lqt-mt... yes
checking for Qt library version >= 3.1.1... no; Qt 3.1.1 or greater is
required
Great. Does this mean I have to compile qt from source?
I feel dependency h**l closing in, and I realize debian is sometimes
conservative in choosing it's packages, but there must be a better way...
Any pointers greatly appreciated!

Hi all,
the recent discussions remind me: What is the current standard-logo of
LAD/LAU? I know the one created by Frank Neumann which I created an
one-color-svg from to print on t-shirts
(http://www.arnoldarts.de/lad-logo-plain-sw.svghttp://www.arnoldarts.de/lad-logo-plain-sw.png).
If there is a new one already, is there a one-color version available
which I can spray-paint on my rack?

Wenn man mit Raubkopien Bands wie Brosis oder Britney Spears wirklich
verhindern könnte, würde ich mir noch heute einen Stapel Brenner und
einen Sack Rohlinge kaufen.
Greetings:
I have no idea if anyone's ever used a tracker to create a hit song, but
it is unfortunate that trackers are usually associated with a particular
style of music. I have heard some very cool stuff in module formats,
though I'll agree that most of the music-made-with-trackers that I've
heard tends towards rather uninteresting dance beat music. I don't
believe that trackers necessarily impose any kind of style restriction,
you can bend them into doing non-beat oriented stuff. Kuno's "Substantia
Grisea" is an excellent example.
Developers are often surprised at what users wind up doing with their
tools.
Trackers seem to have come along at a time just before cheap samplers
hit the market, which might have drawn attention away from the
developing tracker communities. Nevertheless, those communities remain
strong, a lot of people like to make music with trackers, and I don't
think they're overly concerned with their lack of popular success. ;)
Best,

Hi,
I have one m-audio delta 1010LT, it work fine when I record eight traces
through jack (capture_1-8).
Qjackctl show me also the capture_9-12 as readable clients. Two of these
probably are one stereo digital input (the s/pdif), the others two?
There is a way in order to record more then 8 track at the same time ?
many thanks
