At least the 9631 version of the Nvidia video driver did not compile after the
patch was applied and the kernel successfully build and booted. Same would
definitely hold for older Nvidia versions and possibly newer ones as well.
Problem: A bunch of obseleted #define SA_..... entries
in the linux source/include/linux/interrupt.h
They say do not use in newer code but Nvidia does need them.
Solution: Copy these from an older or unpatched version of this file and then
paste into the new one. One need not rebuild the kernel since these are no
longer used there. After do this, Nvidia will build and run fine (so far).
yes, it is my email address.
Thank you very much !

Hi,
'Fox in the tall trees' is very good (the melody) !
But I see it differently..I would put as a first instrument a guitar
'à la' Pink Floyd, add drums, and vocals 'à la' Thom Yorke
(Radiohead). It would then be waaaouw !
If you give me the midi file one day I could work on that..
C ya !
It seems I managed to get more new and revised tunes uploaded than I
realised over the last couple of months.
You might like to take a look.

Now that I'm pretty comfortable with Zyn & Rosegarden as well as
interaction with my hardware synths. I'm starting to get to know qsynth.
This is all a moving target of course :)

Hi,
Does anyone know what the "audio generator" was that Hawkwind used to
use on albums like Space Ritual (one of the best albums ever!).
It produced sweeping, oscillating tones. I'd be interested to know
exactly what it was generating.
Is there anything like it on Linux?

Hi,
I've been trying to use the TAP plugins in Ardour2 beta 12 and
sometimes de tracks where they are inserted become silent (this is
using the EQ plugin). The CPU usage stays low so I don't know if this
is related to the denormal problem I've been reading in the list
archives.
Also I was wondering what stereo LADSPA EQ plugins do people use with
Ardour. I find it difficult to EQ a stereo track by routing it to two
mono buses each one with a mono EQ plugin and habing to adjust one at
a time. Am I missing something here?
Thank you!

Recently I posted regarding nice low latencies on my brand-spankin-new
Thinkpad R60. I was a bit premature though, because when I actually
run any sound through jack I'm still getting lots of pops and clicks
in my audio. I am not, however, getting any Xruns. I'm not sure what
to look for as a culprit.
I already enabled "force 16 bit", which got rid of some nasty
distortion, maybe something wacky with my IRQs? One of my worries is
that the HDA card is on the same interrupt as my firewire and one of
my USB drives. When I remove the modules though, leaving only HDA on
its own interrupt, i still get the pops.
When I use audio without jack I get no clicks or pops, and changing
jackd to capture only doesn't seem to help. I also boosted the
priority of that interrupt thread with chrt --fifo --pid 99 `pidof
'IRQ 4'` without any change.
What could cause clicks without xruns? I'm baffled.
