A free-jazz CD of which I'm quite proud:
http://www.archive.org/details/MeandMyCroniesTrioCD
The Rhodes and Bass are fluidsynth on Linux, and the drone string pad is WhySynth on Linux. The other overubbed pads are, alas, a Korg Triton, because I went to the studio on foot to do mixdowns, and didn't have my laptop with me. I was craving ZynAddSubFX in a big way, but the Korg did alright.
A Ngoni (traditional African harp) player from Burkina Faso sat in with Audiobraille on Sunday night, live cut (Zoom H2, cut with Rezound on Linux) here:
http://www.archive.org/details/AudioBraille2008-11-16
Keyboards and bass sounds on that track are all Linux.
And another live cut, mastered in JAMIN on Linux:

I'm buying an Asus EEE 1000 with a 1.2Ghz Atom chip and going to try to press it into service as a lighter-weight Linux synth module for live use, street performance... and for keeping in my backpack if I find myself at the studio for mixing/overdubbing sessions.

Hi Josep,
About a year ago, I have put a small session online, as accompanying material
for an article I wrote for a german linux computer magazine.
http://people.jacklab.net/edogawa/files/JAD/LinuxUser/Ardour2-LU-Demo.tar.b…
Not that I am particularly proud of my playing... I was under time pressure,
and had to choose a short piece of music to demonstrate basic techniques
in ardour (recording, importing, cutting, gain and pan automation. exporting).
You can read an extended version of the printed article here:
http://wiki.jacklab.net/index.php/Ardour_Techniken
I'm not sure if this is useful for you, or how well this would sound through
rakkarack ;) it's a short and easy-to-play baroque lute piece played on a
weird theorboed-lute type instrument (6 fretted and 6 bass strings) that
sounds similar to classical guitar in my configuration with nylon strings,
but I use baroque d-minor tuning on it. It was built around the beginning
of 20th century (maybe even in the 1920's), see the picture on top of the article.

Hi
I don't have guitar right now .... then I'm fixing bugs in rakarrack for use as insert on DAW programs ....now is pretty stable ... and I want to release a bug fix version with some new things including a preset bank for "recording" and the question is ....
Any place to download free ardour sessions? ..... I'm really interested if they include acoustic instruments, voices .... well all things are welcome.

OK, a rash of Ingen questions, I'll keep the post brief:
1. None of my LADSPA plugins show up, nor my DSSI plugins. I have
the paths set for both...any idea why this is? Is there a config file
that I need to edit? I don't know enough about how Ingen handles
these plugins to know what to troubleshoot; all I know is that they
aren't working. Any tips at all would be appreciated.
2. Luckily, mda plugins show up like a charm. How do I get my midi
keyboard to play into them? I've tried adding internal objects like
MIDI controller, but nothing seems to work. I must be missing
something obvious, so if someone could help me out. (FYI, my MIDI
keyboard shows up just fine in aconnectgui as PCR1.)
3. Audio output is another matter too; I've added audio output units,
but nothing seems to show up in qjackctl in the Audio tab.
...I dunno, maybe I'm just too stupid to be running this stuff, but it
seems that there would be a manual or some kind of documentation to
help the newbie get going on the basic concepts (get MIDI in, get
audio out). I would be more than happy to read something like that,
if I could just find it. I ran into this same frustration with pd,
and gave up on that too. Is there not any software in Linux that
provides this kind of functionality that provides documentation to go
along with it? Obviously most of the users on this list have no
problems using this stuff, so where am I going wrong?

Hi Folks
Uh, the subject was the question ;-) Plus it must NOT be a KDE
component - had too many problems there.
I want to be able to save/load dumps from an Akai S01 sampler (to save
mucking around with floppies), a Roland MKS70 (rack version of the JX10,
but with better MIDI) and a Korg MS2000R.
I've found a few options through Google, but was interested in recent
personal experience.
Cheers

Hi,
I'm going to build a webpage for the LAM mix so if anyone has
suggestions for things that should be referenced on it and even ideas
for the layout/theme etc... I'm interested.
Some ideas I have had are:
playlist
links to original authors web page or LAM page
Links to apps used to create the tracks.
Photos/logos/bandnames etc...
Template:
Incorporate LAO logo, "Music Made with Linux"
Cheers.

Boost Hardware Ltd.
hello again.
while patching some examples in puredata, i tried to compare the datastream of [pd]
and analog modular synthesizers for a better understanding of modular synthesis.
the result is now this one question of the basic data stream desing of pd.
why is there this difference of audio and data streams, because it isnt any
in the analog domain. is it the domain question, digital/analog, or a datastream
management need?
