Greetings,
A quick question: Is there any acceptable substitute for nVidia's
3D-capable chipsets ? I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone
who formerly used nVidia hardware and has switched to something of equal
performance capability, assuming there is such a thing. Also, I'm not
very interested in what's going to happen, I'm interested in what's
available now.
Best,

I would really like to record the output of a java program, which isn't jackd.
I've got jjack up and running, sort of, but there's no way I can try to sort
out if, or how I could make this java program jjack aware. (maybe wrap jar
file? er, way too few brain cells for this). So, how can I simply record the
sound output of this program? jackasyn doesn't work. There must be a program
on linux that simply records anything that hits the dac into a sound file ?
Hi,
I want to play autumn leaves (4/4) with guitar and bass. Does someone
knows to find a midi file with a basic jazz rhythm which I can use for
it? to play along?

Greetings,
A quick note of thanks to everyone who listened to my songs and offered
comments.
The reception of The Spring Of 23 surprised me, I honestly didn't think
anyone would care for it. Sometimes I get so close to my work that I
lose perspective. Again, my thanks to everyone who listened.
Best,

Hi all, I need your advice,
I've got a MacBook with 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo and 512 MB ram.
I would like to install Linux on it (single or dualboot with Mac).
I would like something lightweight, as I can't upgrade the memory.
I will use it for School Music Teacher work mainly (word program, .some
basic music recording, internet)
Any suggestions in lightweight distro and Applications?
While we are at it, any suggestions with Online or OS independent Life
Organizers (GTD or not?)
Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
If the use of Lilypond is too difficult, may be from the Swing midi file
you can copy and paste some bars you like in a track of sequencer and
play them with a loop.
And also I'm using this late answer (sorry) to tell you that i've
uploaded some new rock-patterns and began the bossa-patterns.

I have a question about running linux in ram.
The Scenario.
I'm researching building a dedicated Lsampler box, running headless, with
netjack doing the ins and outs.
Given the usually large templates i run (full orchestra), including a lot of
articulations, i'm wondering how feasible it would be to build a barebones
Linux OS, with linuxsampler as the sole app, more or less, (and required
libs, etc...), and run the entire thing in ram, that is, the OS, Lsampler,
and samples.
Is this possible, and if someone's already tried this in some form or other
successfully or otherwise, could you share some experiences, pros and cons,
etc... ?
I would be doing all this in Linux 64bit, if it has some decent advantages.
Alex.

Parchment Studios (It started as a joke...)
Hi
On the 21. march I'll be performing at Krudttønden, Serridtsslevvej 2,
in Copenhagen at 21:00 with my meditative, electronic project, "Modlys".
Heavy use of ChucK in a more pop-ish setting than I suppose the average
ChucK performance. Lots of realtime algorithmic compositions and
improvisations.
Examples of how it sounds (not live):
http://modlys.dk/mp3/holde_pkt.mp3http://modlys.dk/mp3/i_ly_af_dig.mp3http://modlys.dk/mp3/stille_hvisken.mp3
The lineup is:
Atte André Jensen (me): Laptop/ChucK w gamepad + synth + melodica
Britt Dencker Jensen: Vocals
David Blomqvist: Double bass
André Chercka: Live video
Anyone in the area are more than welcome, the entré is DKK 50,-
