Hi everyone,
i hope someon can help me. I have an alesis io|2 Usb Audio Interface.
It is recognized as a device and Jack works perfect. BUT i can't do
anything else. E.g. playing an mp3 file through audacious doesn't work.
I can select the io2 as output device with pavucontrol but it stays
silent and audacious stops playing (at least the seconds freeze)...
I found this page
http://vir.homelinux.org/blog/archives/24-Alesis-IO2.html
But i doesn't work for me.
I use Ubuntu 9.04

Hi
I just installed ubuntu 9.04 and have a problem with my
/etc/init.d/realtime script. I have something like this:
chrt -f -p 40 `pidof "IRQ-17"`
But it doesn't work because 'pidof "IRQ-17"' returns nothing:
atte@vestbjerg:~$ pidof "IRQ-17"
atte@vestbjerg:~$
How/where can I see that name irq 17 now has?

I had the same trouble recently trying to run
fvwm with fedora 10.
If you install windowmaker
using a fedora package, a menu at the bottom
of the gdm screen should appear. In this menu you
should be able to choose window manager.
(I saw the menu coincidentally after lots of
frustration trying to edit .xsession etc.)
If not, 'grep -r gdm /etc/*' gives:
...
X11/xdm/Xsession:# now, we see if xdm/gdm/kdm has asked for a specific environment
X11/xinit/Xsession:# now, we see if xdm/gdm/kdm has asked for a specific environment
...
X11/prefdm: preferred=/usr/sbin/gdm
X11/prefdm:exec gdm "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
...
So changing gdm to xdm in some of these files might help...
The file .xsession has the same setup as .xinitrc, and as long as it
is readable and executable by gdm/xdm/kdm will be a valid session
choice as "user custom session" or some such. I just do a "ln -s
.xinitrc .xsession;chmod +rx .xsession" and that works just fine. If
you don't know how to set up an xinitrc just a single line saying
"wmaker" will work fine, since windowmaker has its own options to
invoke other programs for your session.

Hi,
I know there is this website for finding key chords http://keychord.com/
But I'd rather have an application for it like tuxguitar is for guitar
chords..
Is there any?

Hi all and sorry for crossposting...
I'm happy to announce a new version of QuteCsound (0.4.1). This
release is mostly a bug fix and usability enhancement release, but it
also contains a few minor useful features. One of the highlights is
localization in Spanish, German and French.
QuteCsound is a simple frontend for Csound featuring a highlighting
editor with autocomplete, interactive widgets and integrated help. It
is a cross-platform drop in replacement for MacCsound (it can open
files created in MacCsound), and aims to be a simple yet powerful and
complete development environment for Csound.
QuteCsound 0.4.1 has been tested on Windows, OS X, Linux and Solaris,
and it is free software released under the LGPLv2 or at your option GPLv3.
You can get it here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=227265&package_id=275…
There's more information here:
http://qutecsound.sourceforge.net/
You can download a Quick Reference pdf document in English, Spanish or
German here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=227265&package_id=319…
Questions, comments and suggestions can be posted to the main Csound
mailing list, or join the QuteCsound users mailing list at:
http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qutecsound-users
Thanks to Joachim Heintz for continuous feedback, translation and
examples, François Pinot for the french translation and Andy
Fillebrown for the Windows installers and fixes for Windows issues.
Enjoy!
