Hi,
My sister did an great project with here school as a music teacher. See
let her students perform an classical concert. They played Haydn.
The recording is done with an zoom H2 I think. I was wondering if its
possible to improve the sound and how?
Which apps and which plugins?
If an experienced mixer would take look at it, would be great.

Just new to this list I obtained no result when I searched the archive with
the keyword "chord recognition". Hence this posting. For my
composing/arrangement sessions from behind the keyboard (with MIDI) I'm
looking for a chord recognition tool (preferably a good quality one that
also recognizes inversions). Quick to use hardware devices seem not to exist
(at least haven't found one through Google). I guess I will have to resort
to a software tool. On my laptop (with midi interface) I have the CCRMA
suite (fedora core 7) with associated software. Has anybody some idea what
software tools are available that work with this configuration. (Under XP
there's quite a range of tools available, but...).

(Sorry for crossposting, but according to the statistics there are many people who are in only one list and I want to hear the opinion of both devs and users)
Hi people,
If would like you to have a look at my initial thoughts about live-midi with notation, or the developing of a notation-based midi sequencer (for Denemo). It would be interesting to hear your thoughts, additions or comments (besides "You made a spelling/grammatical error").

Of course if you are interested in this or other things your help would be welcome, we are always searching for help @ Denemo. Denemo is a Open Source Music Notation Editor, based on lilypond and written in C. (And I know no better one :)

Hi folks.
Hopefully I'm not out of place. I'm trying to compile liblo for openSuse
11.1 as none of the default packages include the static library, however the
build is bailing during make:
libtool: Version mismatch error. This is libtool 2.2.4
Debian-2.2.4-0ubuntu4, but the
libtool: definition of this LT_INIT comes from libtool 2.2.6.
Can anybody give me any clue about how I could rememdy this. I have libtool
2.2.6 installed, so I really don't understand the reference to 2.2.4.

Ubuntu has configured things so that when I start jack through qjackctl,
pulseaudio suspends. This isn't very useful to me because I have Jack
using a USB audio interface that pulse doesn't use, and because there
are times when I need to run non-jack audio apps while jack is running
(such as to view the pd for dummies tutorial I have just been watching
on youtube). How can I stop jack causing pulse to be disabled?
Many thanks

Search the hydrogen forums for a perl script called "midi2hydrogen.pl"
Unfortunately because hydrogen only does 64 ticks in 4/4 time, you'll end up with bars of 16/8 and other strangeness; the resulting file will play just fine. You just have to take a moment to get your head around the weird way that stuff is represented on screen.

Just drag and drop the instruments around to your liking. But do this *before* you import/record material, as you can't move events from track to track (tracks are bound to each instrument). Alternatively, import the material and then select your GM drumkit layout.
Note that I'm talking latest CVS (or 0.4.3 beta).

Hi,
I want to play a drum file with seq24. Now I have 100 bars with a drum
pattern but something in between the drum pattern changes to another for
16 bars. How do I set this up in seq24 and play it?
Thanks in advance,

Hi
Is there any way to sync freewheelin to supercollider. I'm imagining a
scenario where supercollider is the master, and the tempo (or minimum
loop length + triggering of each new "downbeat") of freewheelin is
following supercollider.
Is anything like this possible? Is so, what should I look into, and are
there any special challenges I should watch out for?
Oh, forgot to mention, supercollider and freewheling will be running on
different laptops :-)
Thanks in advance for any input!
