I am not aware of an application that does this. What do you need this for?

Hi,
I want to record some sound from arnold (a CPC emulator) which has
ALSA output. Unfortunately when using the alsa-jack plugin, arnold
says:
Playback open error: Device or resource busy
So I then tried the "Jack and Loopback device as Alsa-to-Jack bridge"
as referenced in the JACK FAQ but still the same busy message.
Does anyone know why the asoundrc trickery does not work for this
application and if anything can be done?
Arnold has not been developed since 2009 so I'm wondering if it is
using a deprecated way of using ALSA?
Cheers,
James.

Qtractor is free, open-source software, distributed under the terms
of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.
Change-log:
- Fixed initial LV2 plugin UI widget/window titles.
- Attempt to get any brand new LV2 plugins Qt4 enabled UI's working on
either slv2 and lilv build modes ;) (nailed by falkTX, thanks).
- Current clip is ultimately inferred from the one under the play-head
position and current selected track; the last one clicked over and/or
selected still has precedence (following request by Loiugi Verona).
- Drag-moving clips horizontally with the keyboard arrow-keys just got a
step better with a fixed minimum of one pixel, depending still on the
current snap-per-beat setting and horizontal zoom level (as suggested by
Louigi Verona, thanks).
- Get maximum and minimum peak values back when drawing audio
waveforms.- Automation play/feedback has been missed to show on those
plugins that provide their own GUI, now on par with all the rest
'homebrew' widgets (eg. generic plugin properties dialog).
- All plugin parameters automation and selection were left inaccessible
until the generic native plugin dialog is eventually shown, now fixed
(re. bug #3463916).
Enjoy && Happy New Year!

Q regarding to Rui's apps is for Qt. Qt apps are fine with (KDE ;) but
even with) GNOME. No Linux audio user seriously will use GNOME3 or
Unity. IMO Linux audio has become pro-audio, but nowadays the
surroundings, such as a DE, become unusable for pro-audio.
Keep in mind that the first "law" of pro-audio is to be work flow
compatible, in an idiot proof kind. Every professional audio engineer
will be able to use any app, from any OS, at any studio.
Exotic, fashion DEs, abstruse session handling etc. are grotesque,
non-pro-audio.

I still will test GNOME3 too, but I already have additional work to do,
to get rid of PA. I also don't like to be forced to use a proprietary
Nvidia driver, but GNOME3 does, hence I'll have to offend licences to
use the rt patch.
Cheers!

hi,
I am using shoutcast for streaming and would like to setup a simple player
on a web page, eg. http://www.radiocittaperta.it/live/radio.html
Shoutcast stream is AAC so googling around I discovered that an RTMP server
is needed between the AAC stream and the flash-based players.
so, is there anybody using an rtmp server like crtmp?
regards

Hello everyone!
It shouldn't be said, that I'm a spoil sport or kill joy - although I might
be :-). Still I thought I'd throw in my penny for the christmas mood. Three
Bach chorales played on Aeolus:
http://juliencoder.de/nama/exporting_xmas.ogg
or (for the poor ogg-deficient):
http://juliencoder.de/nama/exporting_xmas.mp3
Or of course from the website:
http://juliencoder.de/nama/music.html
The chorales are "Herzlich tut mich verlangen" (Weihnachtsoratorium -
christmas oratorio), "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" (Matthauespassion - St.
Matthew's passion) and "Wir Christenleut" (Weihnachtsoratorium again). I know,
that the St. Matthew's passion is for easter, but its the same melody as the
first one, only with a completely different harmonisation and the keys worked
nicely for me, for I didn't want to move from a minor to f# minor in one go.
:-)
I bag to excuse the two obvious glitches in there, but it was late night and
when it comes to christmas I'm a kill joy after all and why I should I bring
more fun to this time of year? :-)
I still hope yo like it and with that say merry christmas or whatever merry
time you'd like to celebrate!
Julien
