Haven't tried it yet, just noticed that it's there. Their website says
nothing about 2.0.

Hi
I had some problems with my jack recently, and today something new
happened, that I'm actually able to reproduce:
In ardour2 "export range markers to multiple audiofiles", *but press
cancel before it's finished*. I tried various settings, for instance
both wav/flac and 44.100/48.000 (my jack sample rate).
After this ardour still plays at more-than-normal-speed (no sound is
heard), like it's still rendering, although the dialog disappears. I can
force ardour stop playback py pressing the close button of the window,
but it only stopps rolling, after a while a "this window might be busy
and is not responding" dialog is shown, cliking "yes" (I'd like to force
quit it) will exit ardour.
Now to the actual strangeness: At this point jackd is screwed, I cannot
start clients, it seems like jackd is not running to them. qjackctl
looks ok, but if I switch to another workspace and back it's gui is all
grey and I cannot exit it, except with the killall command. Top shows
jackd is still running, but I can't killall it, even logging out of my
xfce session and back in leaves it running. So I need to reboot to use
jack again.
I'm 99% sure it's not ardour, since this also happened with other
clients, although not at consistent and I haven't been able to reproduce
it before.

I'm running over my edirol fa66 firewire soundcard. I'm running arch
linux on a thinkpad X61s, and I'm pretty sure the system was running
fine about a month ago...
Any ideas or suggestions would be highly appreciated :-)

I have two machines. On master I do this- launch jack with firewire driver,
then in a terminal type
jack_load netmanager
.....which returns a message that netmanager is running. Then on the slave
I launch jack with the "net" driver. So far so good- I can then see
connections on the master, hear Hydrogen, run audio from my fa-101 through
Guitarix on the slave, etc. All good, acceptable latency. HOWEVER, when i
specify 8 channels of i/o on the slave i still get only two channels in
both master and slave connection diagrams. How can I get MOAR?
Hi,
Just wondering if there's any particular reason why so many Arch Linux
AUR packages list LASH as a dependency? Seems they all (or those I've
tried so far) build fine without it. Additionally I understood LASH to
be deprecated. Just saying!
James.
Hey everyone )
So I was sitting there, Friday afternoon, not much to do. So I started
playing around with Linux Audio software and you know where that might lead
you at times!
Anyway, I thought - is it possible to make a tune with no melody whatsoever
and not too much development BUT with drums and a bassline. Seemed like a
challenge and I took it. The result is this tune, a tune about nothing.

Enjoy(possibly)!

incidentally, fons has recently announced zita-lrx, which would be
exactly what you want:

Just a note to say I downed this and built it on AVLinux 5.0.3 and so
far it works great.
Thanks J?rn !!
hi all -
i do urgently need a (professional) usb audio interface for my linux
laptop (ubuntu 11.04). i need at least 4 seperate output channels. i
don't have an express card slot or firewire.
i have looked at the alsa site and read many threads, but i couldn't
find any option which fits for my needs (emu0404 seems to work but needs
an additional digital-analog-converter).
any tip is very much appreciated.

I am looking for a Linux application developed in java, php or C + + that
allows me to test in a network with different musical instruments. End
resulting
in the possibility of uniting the different instruments in a single file or
midi wab

Hello,
Does anyone know how to tell fluidsynth to start playing at a certain
point in the file? By time or even midi ticks?
I use fluidsynth as standalone midi player because I need no daemon
running and can give the soundfont in the commandline, so trying out
different soundfonts is very easy.
If not I would like to hear about your midi player solutions. The less
config files and servers, the more I can set parameters directly on
the command line, the better.
