Artists of the Universal Music Group likely are members of the GEMA, even
if they aren't Germans.
If they catch you when smoking weed in Germany, the sentence isn't very
hard, but if they catch you playing copyright music of GEMA members you
are done. Some countries completely don't care about copyrights , but they
kill you if you're smoking weed. When in Rome, do as the Romans do!

Hello everyone!
To celebrate my latest toy (an Arturia MiniBrute, fully analogue synth) I
recorded Dark Dreams. OK, I had the piece before and then just decided to
complete it with my new toy. The final mix is perhaps not as clean as I might
have preferred otherwise, but I wanted to hear a final result and send it off
to a good friend of mine. :-) Still you might enjoy it.

Or for the ogg-deficient:

Or reachable from the Radioplayer mainpage:

Instruments used: lots of MiniBrute and LinuxSampler for the drums. Thanks
to the Calf team for yet another impressive effect, that has made my day: the
MultiVoice Chorus. What a beast! Also thank you Tim for your new CPAS plugins,
though I've only used the plate2x2 and the reintroduced old chorus (on the
stringy/paddy sounds) for this piece. Others will follow and they will have
need of more interesting plugins.
Feedback as ever is welcome. :-)
Darkly yours :-)
Julien

If it doesn't, a wireshark/pcap-trace might be useful to get
information.
Ah, Thank you for clearing that up.
How picky is netjack2 about jackd version? I am realizing that master is
testing UbutuStudio 13.04 jackd 1.9.9.4 and the client is running
UbuntuStudio LTS (12.04) Jackd 1.9.8. Rebooting the master to 12.04...
Ah,,, Hmm, I seem to be using jackd from kxstudio... 1.9.9.5, I guess that
is what I will move the client to as well....
Ok, Both computers are at 1.9.9.5 now and I have a connection. Not only
are netjack and netjack2 different, but there are some incompatibilities
from 1.9.8 to 1.9.9 as well.
Interesting, I got the idea that the number of lines defaulted to 2 i/o,
but instead it seems to default to whatever the sound card is (12i/10o in
this case) They do not auto connect (probably the correct way things
should be) which means if I wanted to use the master as a headless audio
card, I would have to set up a session to do that. Seems to handle 20
lines at a time on a 100m network. (Audacious connects to all 20 outputs I
set up)
Qjackctl is ok (even using the dbus option) for starting up the master
side, but it is not so useful for setting up the client side. It will the
the net backend in place but does not have a place for port numbers for
audio and midi.

Some Asian countries tend to kill people who have contact to drugs,
homosexuality is indictable, they tend to call it sodomy by their laws,
they don't have liberty of the press, they ignore protection of species +
they tend to ignore copyrights, patents, human rights, safety regulations
for the illegal copies of patented products they try to sell on the
European market.
The German law is hard regarding to offended copyrights and patents. The
GEMA is a mafia, they overdo their work, ruin the lives of people who
didn't pay the GEMA, even kindergartens are sued for singing songs in
public.
IANAL. I hope you're aware that if you make a joke about Mohammed, it
could cause, that in some Islamic countries the ambassador of your country
will be killed.

Einer guten Tat folgt die Strafe auf dem Fuße!
I am trying to set up a netjack2 link from one computer to another. I have
found a number of netjack related things in /usr/bin.
There is jack_net_master and jack_net_slave... no man page for either and
the help options ( -h) don't say much either. I have tried any combination
of IP in both ends (4 in total) but it is always waiting for a connection.
Ping works both ways.
There is also jack_netsource... this one has a man page which suggests a
setup like:
On hostA:
jackd -d alsa
jack_netsource -H hostB -n1 -i4 -o4 -I0 -O0
On hostB:
jackd -d net
So having replaced the word hostB with thge IP of hostB still gets me no
connection though the ports do show up in the connection dialog on the
master side (hostA). (nothing on hostB)
Google... gets me the idea of doing:
pc master:
jackd -d alsa
jack_load netmanager
slave:
jackd -d net -C 2 -P 2
Listening on '225.3.19.154:19000' Is what I get.... ifconfig shows:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:11:95:5e:1a:4c
inet addr:172.17.128.45
So I am not sure where the 225.3.19.154 comes from or how it is possible
for the netmanager to be "listening" on that port.
One of the pages points to:
http://trac.jackaudio.org/wiki/WalkThrough/User/NetJack2
Which gives me errors... the main jack page says trac is down since
December... so that is no help either.
My setup is:
hostA(audio IF I want to use)-----switch-----hostB
|
-------rest of LAN
Right now I just want a connection. Then I can play with other settings.

Hi all.
Quick question......
I have a rough mix of a band (stereo wav file) done in pro tools that I'd
like to do vocals over.
I plan on importing that file into Ardour, doing vocals and then exporting
the vocal track out to send to my friend to mix.
I've done this before with a Mac and Digital Performer but I'd rather not
do that again.
If the sample rates are similar, do I have anything to worry about in terms
of jitter or other digital oddities when I give the vocal.wav file back to
my friend?
Things should be fine, correct?
Thanks for any advice.

"I was thinking to do totally mono mix and using delays to add some
spacial localisation for individual instrument between LR."
This is possible and could archive mono compatibility, but it also could
cause issues. You music will sound different with different speakers, in
different rooms etc., so what's bad with a stereo mix, that isn't
absolutely hard to the left and right. It doesn't matter, if the volume of
the HiHat is a little bit louder or silenter when moving around the room.
Do conservative panning by the pan pots and add some decent room by early
reflections of a reverb.

Perhaps you want to do a stereo mix, that is so minimal stereo, that it's
nearly mono. This would archive that everything does sound similar by just
listening to the left, right or both channels panned to mono. If it's too
mono like for your taste, you might want add some early reflections from
the direction the instrument should be, to spread the stereo impression.
I don't know if it's that what you want to do with the Haas effect. When
reading your mails and translating it by my broken English, I guess you
try to get one channel's signal to the other channel, by playing it silent
and a little bit earlier on this channel. This would cause that doing a
sane mix will become harder, than easier to do.

Radium Compressor is the system compressor in Radium,
but distributed as a standalone jack application.
Radium Compressor uses the stereo compressor found in
effect.lib in the Faust distribution.
This compressor is written by Julius O. Smith III.
The GUI shows accurately the sound used for compression,
and how much the sound is being compressed.
I haven't seen this in any audio compressor GUI before,
but it's probably been done before.

How you are using this pluging for haas panning?
I tried put down dry signal totally , delay on both channels 0ms for
beginning , feedback 0% on both channels, and echo level 0dB on both
channels.
With this setting I am getting only to left output :(
Ardour 2.8.14
Tap plugins 0.7.2
