Hi,
not only regarding rt apps I'm sceptic, but maybe Snapcraft/Snappy are
worth a trial.
Has anybody already tested Snapcraft/Snappy with rt audio apps?
Ubuntu 16.04:
$ sudo systemd-nspawn -q dpkg -l libsnappy1v5 snapcraft snapcraft-examples|grep ii
ii libsnappy1v5:amd64 1.1.3-2 amd64 fast compression/decompression library
ii snapcraft 2.12 all easily craft snaps
ii snapcraft-examples 2.12 all examples and demos for snapcraft
Arch Linux:
$ pacman -Q snappy snapcraft
snappy 1.1.3-2
snapcraft 2.12-1
Snapcraft for Arch is available by the AUR, I simply edited 2.10.1-2 to
2.12-1 and replaced the checksum with 'SKIP'.
From time to time people can't compile audio apps on some distros,
perhaps Snapcraft/Snappy is a way to solve this issue.

Ralf
Hi,
is there any chance to get an old rt kernel running, by downgrading
something or changing some settings, if this error happens [1]?
It doesn't happen with a newer kernel [2], but newer kernels are not
necessarily running good on my machine.
I also wonder, when the location /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ohci_hcd/unbind
changed to /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ohci-pci/unbind [3].
Regards,
Ralf

Hi All,
I'm new here. Have posted in the lad list a couple of times. Anyhow, I
wrote a little tool to help with learning to sight-read guitar. It
generates random exercises based on the key, scale and range you select.
They are output as midi files which you can open with your score editor of
choice.

If this an inappropriate email for this list just tell me to get lost :)
If you decide to try it and have issues, let me know.
Thanks!

I've used OBS for the radium videos. I also tried simplescreenrecorder,
but it wasn't up to the task of capturing 1900x1000x60 without using too
much CPU
or skipping frames. https://obsproject.com/

That is quite a list of developers, contributors, supporters and
influences. Thank you to everyone involved in the development of Ardour.
For Philip Yassin (whose excellent YouTube videos I love) or anyone, could
you recommend a particular screen capture program for Linux (to use to make
YouTube videos, etc.)
Thank you.

Hi there!
I want to display the frequency response (amplitude, impedance and
maybe phase) of my self-build speakers on my homepage. I like the clean
look of gnuplot and I wonder if anyone knows about a manual for linux-
users to make "clean" speaker measurements (with room influences
eliminated as far as possible) to get an output in a style like this:
https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zsqjk1N1Sws/V2xYWnunOrI/AAAAAAAAAWE/aYPZLa2x
ItYkpFLA3f1zO25IN_AjPY_PACLcB/s1600/eq_smooth.png
(just 1 amplitude, of course, and with a dB range of 80 to 120, f.e.)
I have some experience in speaker measurement, but unfortunately I'm
not that smart to write my own octave-scripts. I'm just a linux-audio-
USER, you know.
Greets!

Here's a light improv. Would have been only a recorded chord riff but
then, why not not add some bass ? And then piano. A bit of snare and
such would be OK. Just for fun.
Instruments:
Shiraki acoustic 6 string guitar
Tenglewood acoustic bass guitar
Pianoteq Pleyel Player (*) Piano (played on launchkey mini)
Korg Microstation JazzBrush kit
Recorded using Mixbus 32c. Recorded without any click track. Drums
played on the MS keyboard and recorded to stereo audio track. The
cymbals were multed from the stereo audio track from the Microstation to
another track to add reverb just for them. The guitar track was
duplicated and each was panned to a side. Same for the multed
cymbals. XT-BC for the bass, XT-DC for the drums, Protoverb for most
tracks, uhbik-A for the cymbals. XT-ME and Presswerk on master bus.
Exported sans normalization.
Integrated Loudness: -12.5 LUFS
Loudness Range: 2.0 LU
Peak: -1.2 dbFS
True Peak: -0.5 dbTP

And, another improv for fun. Something like a lazy Saturday shuffle.
This one is in stark audio contrast to the previous, of which the
instruments will tell:
Zebra2
Diva
Hive
Mode Audio Reflect/Punch
Assembled in Bitwig by making clips then playing clips into the
arranger. Exported as single tracks to Mixbus 32c. The bass was
played, not sequenced, so it's not even, for better or worse. XT-DC
and AF210 EQ on drums, FC70 on bass, AF210 EQ on pads. The main pad
track was duplicated and each panned on a side. XT-ME and Presswerk
on master bus. Exported sans normalization. This one though is too
close to the peak edge.
Integrated Loudness: -16.5 LUFS
Loudness Range: 7.3 LU
Peak: -0.2 dbFS
True Peak: 0.0 dbTP
(*) Pianoteq Pleyel Player piano sound chosen in reference to Laurent
Garnier's concert at the Pleyel concert hall which is a concert hall
for classical music... except for that evening. If curious:

Hi ; I copied this MSG from Rui's blog
<http://www.rncbc.org/drupal/comment/7051#comment-7051> in case he's
(litterally) under water :)
My next webshow is about Automation in Qtractor (every day! AIQED :p)
and I'd like to take the opportunity to demonstrate external MIDI
control of Qtractor plugins.
So I fired up midisnoop, and turned the knob that I want to use, and it
said:
|Controller, Channel 1 / Controller: 107 - Undefined, Value: 93|
So what I want to do now, is to use this controller to alter the Cutoff
of he DCF1 of a SynthV1 that I have in a track ; what would be the
quickest route? I must say, I find the view/controllers window
<https://framapic.org/yIFTYa99Ljhy/gNSsexJSUNn9.png> a bit overwhelming :/
Happy summer to every1!
