Release v0.1: IConnectivity MIDI Configuration Utility

Dear linux audio users and developers, (crossposting as usual for releases) at the end of the last year I bought a new MIDI interface. I decided to buy a IConnectivity MIO10 as it comes closest to my old (MOTU MIDI Express XT) as it was reported to work flawless with linux. It did, regarding the MIDI-Part, but as usual, the configuration was not possible with linux. As WINE did not work for me as well, I decided to create my own utility. And here it is: https://github.com/dehnhardt/mioconfig Currently it does support only a small part of the configuration possibilities, the interface provides (Read the RELEASENOTES.md for further information) and is prealphabetasomewhat - but as I did not implement firmware updates - it should (and in my case did not) not break the device. The utility should work with most IConnectivity MIDI devices but I ownly could test ist with my device. There are *no* precompiled packages at the moment, you have to build them. (It is based on QT) But I really apprecciate every input (please use the github issues) - and if someone wwould like to enable compiling under Windows or Mac (which should work as I use QT an RTMidi) - you are very welcome! [Music] Cloud burst / Sheirgong (solo piano)

Hey hey, I've just uploaded a new piano piece. http://juliencoder.de/nama/cloud_burst.mp3 http://juliencoder.de/nama/cloud_burst.ogg It all began with a simple chord of stacked quints and continued by the means of "what could come next?". The opening section is now rather dark and dissonant, but it evolves into a dreamy little piece. I used Fons' Zita-verb LADSPA plugin and some compression and limiting, since that was suggested to me a couple of times now. I tried to keep it all very natural and still dynamic enough to capture the original spirit of the song. 'morse code' picked up by the speakers

Recently the speakers (Yamaha HS5) are 'picking up' 'morse code' (for lack of better description). I don't think this goes into any recording (haven't checked yet). So, erratically, maybe a few times per hour, the speakers will put out a short 'morse code' type of beeps, whether there is music playing or not. It could be at total idling time. They never did that before. My question is, what is the source of these short beeps ? Even if they are not recorded they can be disturbing when improvising or in a quiet piece.

Looking for best-possible quality algorithmic reverb plugin

Hey hey, I know, losely termed and fit for religious disputes, but I'm looking for a nice algorithmic reverb plugin (LADSPA or LV2) that can hold its own on a solo instrument or solo voice. There are some very good IRs and reasonably good algorithmic reverbs, that I use in mixes. But IRs aren't that tweakable - certainly not on the fly. I know of some applications that can do that, but all those that I know have a graphical user interface and thus are out. -- The algorithmic reverbs I know and use, are good, but not good enough for a good solo performance. [Music] Wind of sorrow (piano)

The mood is nicely expressed by the title, some lovely IR reverb was added to the mix and the rest is history. :) All conceived and recorded within one hour. I wished I could have written this, when I felt like that. But now it's here and I didn't want to forget it, after my short trip this weekend. :) Feedback is welcome.
