Hey ey,
La Parisienne:
https://youtu.be/jO4MN9GiO5o
Almost entirely recorded with the Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, the free SFZ
orchestral library. Only some lead lines and the tuba were doubled with an
analogue sound each to slightly emphasize them. The whole piece was then
reverberated with jconvolver.
Stylistically, it mixes the romantic waltz with 60s dance orchestral passages.
There is even a short quotation from something popular. :)
Feedback as ever is welcome.
Note about the youtube description: I know that something went wrong there,
with the first five words being at the end. Right now I am quite frustrated
with the web experience of such services. YT is acceptable - mostly -, SC
bringing pure terror. :(
Best wishes,
Jeanette

Hey hey,
yes, it's a Bach arrangement or transcription. A somewhat proggy (but
complete) arrnagement of J.S. Bach organ prelude "Ich ruf zu Dir, Herr Jesu
Christ" (BWV639). Something I've wanted to do badly for years:
https://youtu.be/45g5JKJpRwA
It's mostly software here: massive use of LinuxSampler, Aeolus bass pedals,
setBfree and Fluidsynth for the electric bass. Only the melody in the first
full run through is hardware, as is the bass in the intro.
Also massive use of plugins: a shoutout fo Vynil for the intro as well as many
others. I'm really growing fond of Fons' Zita-reverb.
I hope you enjoy it, feedback is welcome (when wasn't it? :) ).
Best wishes,
Jeanette

Dear LAU list,
Can you help with the evaluation of (syntesized) snare drum sounds?
(It's for a paper.) Trained ears, and headphone or speakers are
required, will take a few minutes (9 samples, choice of 4 possible
answers per sound example):
Needs to be no later than 9 hours from now.

Hi all
Since years I have had rtirq perfectly working on my Devuan/Debian DAW (sysV
init).
Now with Devuan3/Debian10, after booting the RT priority are not set.
Only after restarting rtirq, priority are as expected (see below).
The rtirq service was started during boot, but without setting priorities.
I cannot explain why. Any ideas?
Thans in advance
Regards

Hello!
I have a bunch of drum samples that I need to mix down. For example, I have a folder called SNARE. Inside are 5 audio files of a single hit recorded from all 5 mics on the drum set. In audacity I would load them all in, select Tracks > Mix > Mix and Render to bring them all to a single mono audio file.
So far so good, except I have a BUNCH of folders to do. Is there a command line tool that can do this? I'd like to script this process if possible. I've run across SoX in my googling, but I wanted to check with you all to see what tools you might recommend.
Thank you,
Josh

Given the current curfew has me unable to physically collaborate I am
looking for software for online collaboration.
Any suggestions?
