It always feels strange using .wavs - is there a
'best' or
'most free' format for full-range sound recordings?
Falc? AFAIK it's lossless and half the size of wav, but it
seems to be very young and therefore unsupported.
But if you type »audiocd:/« in KDE having an audio CD
inserted, you'll wonder ;-) .
