I think I found out more. It only happens if the valve saturation plugin
is left without input for some time. I can trigger it *every* time and
make it go away *every* time.
Of course this might be a bug in a number of places. Might also be my
specific combination of versions/kernel/refrigerator :-)
sounds like some denormal problem. Maybe route some noise into it [very
low level]. And contact the author about it.
