don't forget, though, that sticky threads on forums can serve a similar
purpose.
I'm not sure what sticky threads are, but I'm guessing they work on an entire
post basis (preserve, highlight, or whatever)--wikis let you work at a finer
grain level, they let you edit any part of the page content.
