...It's probably the best bit of hardware I've ever bought... most
everything I do is synthesized though... I can't help you a lot with
recording.
As far as sound quality goes... at that price range... I don't think
you can beat it.
The difference in capabilities as far as both generation of sounds and
in editing/authoring/sequencing/whatever/etc {you can crank all the delays
in sound forge's multitap delay to about 3 times as high as you can with a
48/24 card... before it starts to tear your ears out. :}} The amount of
additional depth you can give things is something you've just got to hear.
It gives you a lot of room to play with in coagula as well. {you can
actually get sounds out of it instead of just noise.} It's the same in snd
for that matter {Tho I don't really have any 16 bit experience to relate
it to. {'Least not in years.}}
