Sorry, I consider all varieties of the GNOME
desktop to be an insult.
Their
design philosophy appears to be: "Now that we've removed THAT
functionality,
what else can we remove?" Eventually, the GNOME desktop will consist
of one
button in the middle of the screen that reads: "Shutdown." ;-)
I don't use it, but it seems the current efforts in gnome are geared
towards the handheld rather than desktop. which would make sense to me
... xfce or one of the other choices for a lightweight desktop, kde if
you like that sort of thing and gnome for tiny displays and handhelds.
That's just eye candy, some of which KDE does better. But Gnome3 for
handhelds? Not with it consuming a gig of RAM.
