Nice stuff!
I'm late to this party, but I have to throw some love towards the M-Audio
Microtrack 96/24 recorder. It's made some great recordings for me over the
years when paired with a nice little Sony stereo mic I picked up at the
Sony outlet store. (I don't remember the model offhand).
My only issue with it was that the battery stopped holding a charge, and
wouldn't even run when directly connected to a USB port or to the charger.
M-Audio wanted $75 to repair it, but it turns out that an iPhone replacement
battery works perfectly well. I was even able to get one with a slightly
higher amperage for longer life. The battery cost me about $10 online.
That unit's been replaced with the Microtrack II - I have no info on that
unit though.
