Why not just use Ableton Live? Save yourself a whole
lot of trouble.
Oh, and using linux audio software live? I wouldn't.
i'd call it chutzpa to tell newbies on linux-audio-user mailing list not
to use linux audio software.
i am regularly using linux audio software in live situations, and i'm
perfectly happy with it.
