Hi
My system dual boots Linux/Windows. I have software I could not afford
on the Linux part of my box & muse / rosegarden actually sound audibly
better (IMHO) than my modest copy of Cubasis. I have not figured out
how to recompile my Windows kernel for low latency (snigger) & when I
use midi yoke for soft synths the latency is unworkable, unlike Linux &
Jack. I have also made a 'live' music production disk using Slackware &
Linux Live & have yet to figure out how to do that on Windows (snigger
snigger).
I have to dual boot because of specialist software in another area I
use, but for music I use Linux: for someone in my situation there is no
contest.

I also note there is no debate as regards DAW's and other more niche
systems.
My systems would be impossible for me to fund on anything else apart
from Linux.
