Well, a daemon you can connect to; ie. you send it commands or you
connect some other UI to it, f.ex a GTK GUI.
The important thing is that the daemon is not in any way depending on
a GUI to operate. It's a forked background process that I f.ex want to
start when my system start and which always lie in the background.
Do you run jackd in such way (during system start) ?
