How can we order the one with the TI chipset? Is there a difference
in
serial number, or something (just a wild guess)?
He's not talking about something in the saffire, he's talking about the
firewire controller inside your computer.
I use the Focusrite together with a Belkin PCIe FireWire card with a TI
chipset.
Also make sure you're using the latest svn checkout of the FFADO 2.0.0
branch, not the 2.0.1 branch because 2.0.1 won't work with DICE chipsets
(yet).
No, do _not_ use the 2.0.0 branch. Its not existing.
Don't use the 2.0-branch for any dice device either. It will not work, 2.0
doesn't support that platform.
Other than that: Run your focusrite saffire pro24 or pro40 with ffado trunk and
all will be well.
Have fun,
