I would really like to get one of my machines to be an fx rack.
I find PD very rock solid (except the bleeding edge CVS version
devel_0.36, which is currently a bit broken). You can use all LADSPA
plugins, make your own GUIs for it, use it with MIDI controllers or
even control PD through a network connection.
