One of these other virtues is that it is a quite ordinary Linux
distribution that is just as tweakable as any other ordinary Linux
distribution. I'm not offended but I just feel I have to try to refute
the point of view that Ubuntu couldn't be used in a pro-audio

sure, you can instal ubuntu-minimal and make your own "distro"
i did that and it was fine.
you gotta choose the distro the packaging you like/serves you the most.
that's why i switched to Arch, not because ubuntu doesn't work
