A student of mine is traveling and will be in the San

soon (within the next couple weeks). She'd like to see some musical
sites, so of course I've recommended she check out CCRMA. Are there
any other notable places or events - music stores, art museums,
concerts - that she could check out while she's there ? Any and all
recommendations appreciated ! She's a beginner in electronic music
production, working mainly with a Grimes-like setup including Ableton
Live, a nice Arturia controller, a few good VST synth plugins, and -
best of all - an open mind and a receptive ear.
A long shot indeed, but last time I checked, Ray Lynch was based not too
far from San Francisco. (Tragically, I believe his home/studio burned
down in a wildfire some years ago - but I think there was a crowdfunding
effort to help him rebuild.)
I've no idea whether he receives visitors or even still works with
music, but if I were a young electronic musician on a pilgrimage to the
bay area, I'd certainly want to see if Ray has anything cooking, because
if he does, it would probably be too special to miss.
Other than that, maybe:
-

interest while checking out CCRMA. Although mostly online events at
the moment, due to COVID.
- N.B. Possibly of interest to LAU subscribers generally:
