Hopefully the future will bring an alternative to
midi. ;) Even the
present has midi plugs replaced by USB plugs all over (like all
M-Audio controllers). I just ask myself, why manufacturers still
transport midi over that USB cable instead of something more
powerful.
as a user of free software I'm *glad* they still use MIDI. Otherwise it
would be something proprietary and we had less chance to use the
devices.
