as a quick test, i burned and booted an Ubuntu Studio 12.04 live DVD. the kernel on that

I'm using MultiFace II on whatever the latest
is in Ubuntu Studio
12.04 x86_64 (I think it's 3.3+) without any problems.
If there wasn't an upgrade since 10 Sep 2012, it's 3.2.0-23-lowlatency.
