Hello friends, I would like to ask you is there an application where i could use vumeters while I'm making a recording. I actually use a mandrake 9.1 with : audacity, rezound, wavesurfer, GnuSound and others but none of them have vumeters for recordings. Do you know if something is preview for that? or if someone works on app which do it? thanks for your help juto

HI, I've got problem with snd to record, ecawave 0.60 do not have any recording option as i saw?? And jack is not configured on my machine yet and I need a little bit of time to do it also i've just intalled it mdk.rpm installed it but the app don't appear : terminal said : snd_ctl_open: No such file or directory Strange that they don't think about vumeters in Audacity... juto

If you install JACK then you could use meterbridge: http://plugin.org.uk/meterbridge/ but you almost certainly dont want actual VU meters, they are really only useful for analogue tape recodings and broadcast. If you are using jack, then meterbridge is what you want. If you are not using jack, you should consider switching since meterbridge is what you want. I used it all weekend. (Thanks Steve!) BTW - do you really want vu meters? Or do you possibly want dpm type meters? meterbridge offers both and more. - Mark
