Hi,
Not that I am a drummer, but not a real fan of midi editing either ;)
So I need a hardware interface for the drums (something like the Roland
octapad). Moreover I have thought about it and this is how I like to use
the computer, as server of sounds, midi/audio record and mixing. For
workflow an hardware interface is better I think.
So searching for a drum pad now to use with LinuxSampler and probably
Hydrogen (if it finally get stable with JACK).
Any recommendations as it comes to touch, features, connection
possibilities, brands etc.?
Like I said, I am not a drummer, so it's gonna be pretty low budget I think.

Drumkat seems to be the best option for me indeed.
Does the Drumkat gives me much more compared to a DK10 (I want to use it
with LinuxSampler and hydrogen maybe)?

One of the best feature of DrumKat (not DK10) is the possibility to tune
the sensibility of each pad/trigger to match your personal way of drumming.

Ok, got my snd hand DrumKat VK12 (DK10 with other mapping) with two
HATpedals and stand for 200 euro.
Thanks for suggesting, looks nice and solid :)
Only need some stuff for under the pedals to absorb noise/ vibrations.
Any recommendations for this?

Second that sentiment, but I'd go for one of the 4x4 grid models. The
Akai ones are great - I have an MPD24 working ootb with Linux now. I'm
also a big fan of the Korg one (think it's the PadKontrol) just for
the light-up pads.
You can do a lot with a finger drumming pad controller and a decent
sense of rhythm.

The alesis "control pad" is a affordable and works out-of-the-box
with a
USB connection. I've used it when i developed the midi action system for
hydrogen, so i used it more as a controller for actions (play, pause
etc) then for playing drums. But it has extra inputs for attaching other
triggers (like a bassdrum controller).

Most people on the Internet seems to recommend Roland or Yamaha, but I
saw the Alesis too, could be an interesting option...

i have something like that about half finished, using piezos as drum

the pure data patch works with the [comport] object and triggers
different parameters of the audio synthesis.

learning all the various stuff for it has been quite some fun so far and
got me into even more interesting stuff than i had anticipated.
for the quick and dirty solution while the set is being built, i'd also
