Hi,
first of all, I know that it looks like an Ardour-specific question, but
it's not. Not fully, at least :-)
I'd like to publish the music I make not only in MP3, but also in a way
that anyone can download and modify it at will. Ideally, there would be some
kind of "bundle export" in Ardour that I could use to create an archive that
included all the audio files and the metadata of the project. But I've
searched and didn't find anything similar. Does it exist?
And if it doesn't, what could I use as a substitute? I figured I could
export all the audio in FLAC, and I could share the Hydrogen file for the
drums, but what about the effects, and the automation? I don't think the
"Right Way" is to export audio with effects applied, because (IMHO) part of
the fun is applying effects that weren't in the original mix. But I'm a
complete newbie in this field, and I don't know if it's how people usually
do it.

That's a good question. I don't know, because last time I looked into
it, the project directory had a lot of things. I could try, anyway. Thanks

Hell yes, time to start looking at a3, a project I have planned for
this fall will greatly benefit from this functionality.

except the edits. so i created a full copy of my ardour session
directory, used ardour2's "consolidate" feature to bounce all the messy
edits into one single region per track, then got rid of all older

and concise session that gives a user maximum leeway in fiddling around.

what i was hearing. there's also a shell script that probably won't work
on most people's systems, but gives you an idea what programs i was
using in addition to ardour2.

session ~ 500 JACK ports with jackdmp/dbus 1.9.8 takes >30 seconds here!

I've got a strange problem with MFV. *Something* is poisoning
the signal graph with Nans or Infs. One visible result is that
e.g. the W channel of one of the jkmeters shows only peaks and
no RMS values (this is to be expected if the filter state gets
a Nan - once a Nan always a Nan). The other indication is that
adding an Ambdec produces a never ending xrun storm even if the
effective CPU load remains below 10%.
Have you seen anything similar ?

cases for the AMB mixer that's slowly taking shape.

not in this session. sc4 can be funny at times, but i haven't had any
issues with it for quite a while. i don't have access to the session
atm, will ake a look when i return home on sunday. meanwhile, if you
want to pinpoint the problem, try muting all channels and then unmute
one by one.

Turned out to be jconvolver. Added some Nan testing code to zita-convolver

I'm running it on dual qaud-core, period size 256, and CPU load remains
below 10%.
Nice recording BTW. The flugelhorn solo triggered happy memories of
recording the BRTN jazz orchestra - we had an marvellous trumpet /
flugerhorn player then, Bert Joris <http://www.bertjoris.be/>.

it's to the trumpet what the double-bass is to the electric bass guitar
- the restrained, subtle version. you can't noodle around easily, you
have to mean it (says an electric bass player).

Well, what I did was to make sure there was no or little unused audio
left in the session, bounced parts with not-so-common effects, wavpacked
the audio files and put them along with the session folder in a tarball.
FLAC doesn't work with float-format, but wavpack does, so you have an
entirely losless option.
Here wavpacking turned 184.5 MB into 75.8:

Second, the AMMD is thinking about a new (as far as we know) of
net-album concept, which would include such things like sharing ardour
files (and making re-appropriation easy). We called that audioGIT, it's
really a debut project, by now, we're making proofs of concept, and are
trying to think the better way to achieve this. You can read more (in
French) about this here[2]. Any help appreciated, any contribution is
welcome, and so on, just write us (orl(a)ammd.net).

Well, what I did was to make sure there was no or little unused
audio left in the session, bounced parts with not-so-common effects,
wavpacked the audio files and put them along with the session folder
