I'm a Gentoo user and I'm hoping someone can point me toward info on
how to use zita-ajbridge? I'd like to send all audio from my laptop
to netjack without individually configuring each app for jack.

That is not what zita-ajbridge is meant to do. It is used to connect
additional alsa devices (sound cards, not applications) to Jack.
For what you want to do:
* If at all possible, configure your apps to use Jack. If some
app can't do that consider using a different one.
* Use ALSA's Jack plugin, this makes Jack appear to an app as
an ALSA sound card. Not all apps will be able to use it, if
they can't they are badly designed and you should file a bug
report.

It's not for me I swear.
On OSX jack and core-audio play well together, or rather did some years ago when
I used OSX a lot for this kind of thing. Any mac audio app should be able to use
core audio, and you should be able to achieve the connections you want.

absolutely correct, right up to OS X Mountain Lion which has started to
feature "sandboxing" of certain applications. Many/most OS X audio apps can
still talk to JACK, but there are a few (e.g. quicktime player) which no
longer will. Expect this situation to get worse (and then be pleasantly
surprised if it does not).

That's because I'm confused. I'm think I'm coming out of it though.
I thought zita-ajbridge provided a method for getting non-jack apps
talking to jack. You guys straightened me out on that. At this point
I'm trying to figure out how limited I'll be if I can't get any
Linux/OSX/Windows app to talk to (net)jack. I think iTunes is an app
I will want talking to netjack on all three platforms. Does anyone
know if this is possible?
Is there a failsafe sort of method/hack on any/all of the three
platforms for apps that don't have native jack support?
