Hi list
I've just finished a collab with an awesome lyricist from USA
"Rockangel", she wrote a beautiful lyric, and to that lyric I wrote
music and played it all together. For the project I've used Ardour as
recorder, Electric YamahaDTXplorer drums, ZynAddSubFX bells, organ and
bass, my SG over a TC Nova system direct in, and a AKG C 3000B Mic for
my vocals and the acoustic guitar, my sound card is RME Multiface.
The song 320 Kb version in mp3:

Very much enjoyed listening to this. Good clean mix, not over
processed. Also good to hear you haven't tried to fill all the 'spaces'
with sound.
Although the vocal is crystal clear, the very first verse seems to be
rather quiet.

A couple comments: The vocal could be a little bit more out front, not
too much but just a boost forward would suit my ears. Also, the guitar
outro (yes, that's what I call it :) could use some more presence. It
sounds like a nice part, I'd like to hear a bit more of it.

Hello Svend!
I liked your piece. Still a bit too much 80s for me. But very much less so,
than in Mr. Zero. You did very nice mixing, especially with the drums. Because
their basic sound is not perfect, but you disguised it in a masterly fashion.
But how rude of me: The piece itsefl sounds very warm and organic to me. In
German we'd say: It's a round thing!

Thanks for the kind comments about the song, I agree and admit my mixing
skills have improved a great deal over the last 2 years, I've leaned to

Great production, great song! The sound is very transparent (I'm very
impressed) and the instruments are very much separated from each other and
still good sounding. I agree that vocals might be a little bit much in the
background, but you should probably be _very_ careful if you bring the vocals
more up front, the risk is that it might drown the other instruments and the
text is very clear anyway.
OT: Where in this group did someone mention that Dave Phillips was a little
disappointed (?) about low feedback when linking music on LAU? I think one
answer might be that if you have a big mouth (like me) and thinks and talks
about others work (like I do), then you better do it better if you make
something by your self - that's what I'm a little scared of anyway - when no
one says anything, then you don't have to expect anything either. Do I dare to
ask LAU about what you think about my work after all (good and less good
sounding) advises and thoughts I've done here? I'm not sure, maybe some time
next year if I can keep my mouth shot! :-)

I know from long experience that you cannot expect any kind of feedback
at all, I have earlier received non feedback here on this list for at
tune better produced in my opinion than this one, but you never know
what grab peoples emotions, and that's not bad at all.
