Thanks for mentioning Snd. It looks a bit old-fashioned
now, since I removed the gtk support -- only motif,
or command line. It's almost 24 years old! I think
it has a different emphasis than Audacity, so it might
not be a drop-in replacement.

At this time, perhaps, but a big itch has popped up and
I suspect someone is going to scratch it and others.

I had to bring it up, as it looks like a very powerful tool. I will
learn how to use it one day...
