Hi,
somebody has experience configuring the Ozone (M-Audio) with Ubuntu Studio
9.10?...I have spend hours, asking st google and nothing, there isn´t way to
put my litlle midi controler being reconized with this distro...I´ve not
tried with any other linux...
I will apreciate any comment about it.

Don't know anything the Ozone, but have you tried other audio distros
like Musix 2.0?

It's more likely that your computer's USB chipset is the problem - not the
distro. Try to start (boot up) your computer with your keyboard connected. I
have a PCR-800 keyboard and a NanoKey. Both of them must be connected on my
stationary AMD based computer (Fedora) which have an Nvidia based chipset. On
my Laptop (Ubuntu with a real time kernel), both of them works as in plug and
play - no need to connect before boot. I have an Intel based chipset on this
one and the NanoKey's manual also says that the the chipset should be an Intel
one.

It's more likely that your computer's USB chipset is the problem - not the

first I tried the steps indicated by Brian in the blog:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install madfuload
sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart (it doesn't works may be because I'm using
ubuntu 9.10 but I executed sudo service udev restart)
The Ozone was plug in and power on
$ dmesg |tail
I don't see the line "usbcore: registered new interface driver
snd-usb-audio", this is what I have

just appear the Intel card (actually it is the audio coming with the
motherboard) and the Ozone still refuse to be subdue :-)

$ sudo /et/init.d/hal restart (in ubuntu 9.10 sudo restart hal)
and nothing, could be I omitted some step or may be I have to do something
more...I really would appreciate your help about it.

Did you do the step to fix the udev rules step?
$ sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/42-madfuload.rules
Comment or delete it all out and put in this line:
ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="0763",
SYSFS{idProduct}=="2808", RUN+="/usr/local/sbin/madfuload -l -3 -f
/usr/local/share/usb/maudio/ma008100.bin -D $env{DEVNAME}"

Russo,
I have my Ozone working on 64 Studio 3, based on Hardy, and Ubuntu
Studio 9.10. Check out my post and the one on ubuntu forums that sent
me in the right direction.
