I'm very glad I did. Everyone else was having technical glitches aplenty, and I'm glad I didn't have to think about my gear at all except to just play it. The singer (who has the PA) was stuck in hellacious traffic on the bridge, so we did an instrumental set while waiting for him to arrive, then had to scramble to set up the PA before the second set. Bass player forgot to bring his extra vocal mics, so some of us had to share. Then during the second set, the guitarist's Line 6 amp went crazy and the pedalboard stopped working! The break between second and third sets was spent trying to figure that out (we didn't, we just worked around it). Then, just befor the last song of the night, the bass player's amp came unplugged from the mains! Took a couple bars to figure that one out. My gear worked flawlessly. Despite all the technical issues, we had fun, and audience had fun too, and after watching a few minutes of the videotape it looks and sounds like we put on a good show. But the Leslie was right there behind my right shoulder all night-- powered off and unused. *sigh* - -ken

hi list i just tried taps, and i like it a lot... nice gui, nice functions but i have a memory problem - as soon as i start working (separate), the program eats up all of my (1gb) ram, and then becomes VERY slow, so it is impossible to work with it :( im using mono 48000 khz 6sec. sound... some directions how to avoid this problem? thanx nikola jeremic

Basically download the ll-plugins repository, build its dependencies, build and install elven, then build and install AZR3. The docs say that it is highly experimental and unstable, but the only components I use are elven and AZR3, both of which have been extremely stable and reliable. So far I have used it at maybe 8 or 9 live shows and dozens of rehearsals, with no problems whatsoever. - -ken

I like the "2" waveform shape, it's a little closer to the flattened tonewheel sound and gives some nice harmonics. I don't use percussion unless I'm trying to do jazz. That song is a gospel/blues, so I use pretty standard Hammond drawbar positions: 888000000 in the loud parts, 800000001 for the quiet parts. - -ken
