Dear list members, On the 1st of march at 0h00 GMT, the three LA* lists will be moved to linuxaudio.org. What will it change for you ? not much : ¤ The new address you send your posts to will be : linux-audio-announce(a)linuxaudio.org for LAA linux-audio-dev(a)linuxaudio.org for LAD linux-audio-user(a)linuxaudio.org for LAU ¤ All the user currently subscribed will be migrated automatically, you do NOT need to create a new account ¤ Your password will be reset in the process, so will your parameters. Sorry we cannot do better than this... To get a password reminder (the first one should be automatically generated), you will find the lists home page at http://lists.linuxaudio.org/ ¤ The former addresses will still be valid, but when you will post to them, you will receive a reminder asking you to post on the new list. To avoid having duplicates when merging archives, the posts on the former addresses _will not be received_ by the list members. ¤ We will have a bigger and faster server, a spamassasin setup and interfacing with mailman is also in progress so administration will be easier _and_ moderation will be less pain (thus faster to do). Aqualung 0.9beta7.1 has been released. This is an update to our recent 0.9beta7 release, containing some important fixes to bugs that were found as a result of the greater user coverage after the release of 0.9beta7. Aqualung is a cross-platform music player with lots of features. [linux-audio-announce] CLAM 0.98 released!

We are glad to announce CLAM 0.98 a.k.a. ‘Mac is here to stay’. CLAM[1] is a free-software, C++ framework for doing research and application development in audio and music. It also comes with a set of applications ready to use for non technical users. This is the first release not developed within the MTG [2] since its main developers now work at the GTI[3], also at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Still, CLAM is very indebted to the MTG people. Most of the work in this release was focused on having stable building, testing and packaging on Mac. Check out the MacOS download section[4] on the web for applications DMG’s. We have received valuable and stimulating input for the MacOS build from Christopher Tignor, Volker Schumacher, Eduard Aylon and Stéphane Letz. Thank you all for your help. Apart from MacOS build, this release features KDE integration for NetworkEditor and Prototyper (so you can open network files from Konqueror), MFCC’s added to Annotator’s extractor example, and several fixes (thanks James). FLTK module has been dropped and it is not being compiled by default. It will be completely removed on the next release. Check out the changelog [5] for more details. Next release will consist mainly on bugfixing towards 1.0, so please, tests and report as many bugs as possible. After the release of the long wanted bugfix Alsaplayer-0.99.77 release last week, I am very pleased to announce the release of a new exiting python module for Alsaplayer. This module is the work of Austin Bingham, a new active developer in the Alsaplayer team. Another developer just joined us, Peter Lemenkov. He is working on some new input plugins, included a wavpack plugin. ################################################## AlsaPlayer is a new type of PCM player. It is heavily multi-threaded and tries to excercise the ALSA library and driver quite a bit. It has some very interesting features unique to Linux/Unix players. The goal is to create a fully pluggable framework for playback of all sorts of media with the focus on PCM audio data. http://www.alsaplayer.org/ ################################################## Austin Bingham made the initial release (0.3) of the new alsaplayer python extension module. This module has dependencies on the boost and python libraries. It will probably move to 1.0 status quickly. A set of python bindings for the alsaplayer libraries. These are written in C++ using boost.python and are intended to provide a minimal level of abstraction over the C libraries. Wed Feb 7 2007 -- Sweep 0.9.2 Released ======================================= Sweep is an audio editor and live playback tool for GNU/Linux, BSD and compatible systems. It supports many music and voice formats including WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, Speex and MP3, with multichannel editing and LADSPA effects plugins. Inside lives a pesky little virtual stylus called Scrubby who enjoys mixing around in your files.
