a2jmidid is daemon for exposing legacy ALSA sequencer applications in
JACK MIDI system. It is based on jack-alsamidi-0.5 (jackd alsa seq midi
backend) by Dmitry Baikov. The main purpose is to ease usage of legacy,
not JACK-ified apps, in JACK MIDI enabled systems.
It is tested, and works, here, with current SVN jack. ATM it may or may
not work with other variants.
Planned features/improvements:
* One JACK client per ALSA sequencer client
* Improved build system (autotools) and support (better handling) for
other JACK variants (older MIDI API variants, jackdmp)
* More control on what ports to bridge (currently bridging is fixed to
non-hardware ports).
* Real daemonization with log file, init.d script, etc.
If someone wants to contribute please, contact me, or send patches, or
request inclusion (Gna! a2jmidid project). As usual, packagers are more
than welcome too.

intended to be lightweight, fast, and reliable for real-time
performance.
Changes include: Support for 14bit controller and NRPN/RPN events

To celebrate the second stable release of the 64 Studio creative free
software distribution, the 64 Studio Ltd. company is giving away a
technical support package worth US $240. The contest is being held in
association with TuxDistro.com, the site which hosts torrents for 64
Studio and many other GNU/Linux distributions.
To enter this contest, all you have to do is download 64 Studio (either
64-bit or 32-bit), try it on your own computer, and write up your
experiences. We're looking for the most insightful review, so just
writing "64 Studio rocks!" will not win you the prize :-)
The install images for 64 Studio 2.0 can be found here:
http://www.tuxdistro.com/browse.php?cat=16
The install image is up to 800MB in size and therefore requires a DVD-R.
If you do not have access to a DVD burner, we recommend that you try the
new 64 Studio 2.0 live CD, also available via the Tux Distro link above.
We strongly recommend upgrading to a DVD burner, if only to distribute
and back up the multimedia projects that you will soon be able to create
in 64 Studio.
If you cannot use BitTorrent due to restrictions on your local network,
try the download mirrors listed at http://www.64studio.com/download
Please send your reviews by email to contest at 64studio dot com, by
21st September 2007.
PHASEX-0.11.1 contains fixes for the segfault issues some users have
seen with version 0.11.0. Special thanks goes to Adam Sampson for
tracking this down, and to the rest of you who sent in bug reports.
Upgrading to 0.11.1 is recommended for all users, since it appears
that this bug will corrupt memory used by the synth engine even if
it doesn't trigger a segfault.
As usual, source tarballs and FC6 RPMs (src, i386, i686, and athlon)
are available at:
http://sysex.net/phasex
Thank you for your continued support. Here's to happy music-making
under Linux!
Cheers,
