Howdy!
First release of the pretentiously named "ladspa-lgv-plugins" includes
at the moment just one very simple but very convenient plugin:
monomix. No more plugins are scheduled in the near future, but never
say never, so I kept it open.
It is not rocket science, just a way of easily deal with recordings
that use full stereo separation. monomix combines the left and right
channels of an stereo audio input into a dual mono output. Its
interface offers four preset combinations (L+R, L-R, L-only, R-only)
and one customizable mode. This allows to eliminate, isolate or
enhance different channels on stereo recordings.
In a nutshell, I use it when I work on my jazz chops with Aebersold or
Snidero play-alongs. Just stick it at the output of your media player
of choice (I like Sonic Visualiser meself: waveform display, speed
control, looping, peak frequency analysis for transcription... with a
bit of tinkering SV could be tailored as an invaluable tool for
performing music students, perhaps I'll give it a go some day, so many
projects, so little free time...)

Howdy!
Simple as it could be,
Qsynth 0.3.4 released!
Description:
Qsynth is a fluidsynth GUI front-end application written in C++ around
the Qt4 toolkit using Qt Designer. Eventually it may evolve into a
softsynth management application allowing the user to control and manage
a variety of command line softsynth but for the moment it wraps the
excellent FluidSynth. FluidSynth is a command line software synthesiser
based on the Soundfont specification.
Website:
http://qsynth.sourceforge.net
Project page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/qsynth
Download:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/qsynth/qsynth-0.3.4.tar.gz
Weblog:
http://www.rncbc.org
License:
Qsynth is free, open-source software, distributed under the terms of
the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.
Change-log:
- Command line option parsing has been slightly refactored to allow
custom override through extraordinary fluidsynth option settings (eg. -o
name=value; fixes bug #2781579).
- Main form layout has been given a little bit more slack space, just
to accommodate some longer text label translations (eg. German).
- Converted obsolete QMessageBox forms to standard buttons.
- Saved channel presets are now effectively loaded on engine startup.
- Russian translation added (thanks to Alexandre Prokoudine).
- Grayed/disabled palette color group fix for dark color themes.
- Qt Software logo update.
- Fait-divers: desktop menu file touched to openSUSE conventions.
- Slight optimizations to the output peak meters refresh rate.
- MIDI and audio device names are now user selectable options through
respective drop-down lists on each engine setup dialog.
- New knob style: Skulpture.
Cheers && Enjoy!

SuperCollider is an environment and programming language for real time
audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. It provides an
interpreted object-oriented language which functions as a network
client to a state of the art, realtime sound synthesis server.
Many changes since 3.2; here are some headlines:
* scvim and sced are now part of the main bundle, for using vim or
gedit as your sc code editor
* New UGens added:
* BEQSuite filter UGens (popular set of nice-sounding filters)
* PartConv (efficient frequency-domain convolution)
* SendReply (sends arrays from server to the language client)
* VDiskIn (like DiskIn but with variable rate)
* LFGauss
* Buffer recording/playback UGens used to be limited to 16-channel;
now they can handle massively multi-channel audio
* LocalBuf framework allows synths to create/free their own “private”
buffers, simplifying buffer management in many situations
* GUI system updates: easier syntax, plus a major update of GUI documentation
* Various behind-the-scenes efficiency improvements, for a sleeker
audio server that can do more on a given machine

This years event - Piksel09 - continues the exploration of free/libre and open
source technologies and it’s myriad of expressions within the arts.
Piksel09 is organised in collaboration with Gallery 3,14 [2] and Lydgalleriet
[3] which will host this years exhibitions, Bergen Kunstmuseum [4] hosting the
presentations and panels, and Bergen Kunsthall/Landmark [5] hosting the
evening events.

SLV2 is a library to make the use of LV2 plugins as simple as possible
for applications.
Changes this release:
* Add generic query interface to allow arbitrary querying of data
* Combine similar headers (reduce code duplication)
* Upgrade to waf 1.5.6
* Add man pages for utilities
This version adds API, but is binary backwards compatible with the
previous release.
The new query API is the most significant change: this allows
host/plugin authors to directly access any data whatsoever in plugin
data files (via SPARQL queries) without depending on the SLV2 API to
provide explicit support for extensions/etc.

Hi,
I'm pleased to annonce the release of Midish version 0.4.0.
Midish is a MIDI sequencer/filter with a shell-like
interface. This release provides significant improvements,
including:
* new simplified interface requiring less scripting
* smarter and improved MIDI merger
* new track and filter editing functions
* native support for the ALSA sequencer (linux only)
* more powerful -- but simpler -- filter
* basic command completion in the readline(3) frontend
* support for editting during playback/recording
The old builtin functions have not been removed, thus upgrading from
version 0.3.x to version 0.4.x is transparent. Linux users, must update
their device settings, replacing the unix style ``/dev/midiXX'' names
with the corresponding ALSA sequencer ports.
General info about midish is available here:
http://caoua.org/midish/
The sources are here:
http://caoua.org/midish/midish-0.4.0.tar.gz
The list of important changes is here:

Enjoy!
