Jalv 1.2.0 is out. Jalv is a simple but fully featured LV2 host for
Jack. It runs LV2 plugins and exposes their ports as Jack ports,
essentially making any LV2 plugin function as a Jack application.
This release makes several improvements, upgrading is recommended.
Download and more available at http://drobilla.net/software/jalv/
Changes:
* Tune UI update rate and ring size based on JACK rate and MIDI buffer
size to handle the handle the maximum message rate the plugin can
send.
* Support lv2:sampleRate control ports.
* Tolerate loading presets with port values that aren’t xsd:decimal
* Notify plugins of Jack transport changes by sending events
(an atom:Blank with properties from the LV2 time extension)
* Refuse to instantiate plugins which require unsupported features
* Support LV2 buf-size extension (with all features)
* Add Gtk3 UI
* Port to MinGW
* Fix Jack Session support
Enjoy,

LV2 1.2.0 is out.
This release adds three new extensions:
* options, a generic mechanism for hosts to pass options to plugins at
instantiation time (and optionally get/set them later)
* buf-size, which allows hosts to provide block length and buffer size
information to plugins (via options), and plugins to to require
restrictions such as fixed and/or power of 2 block lengths
* morph, which allows port types to be changed dynamically, with
backwards compatibility (e.g. control ports can optionally be used as
CV ports in hosts aware of this extension)
There are also many improvements to the existing specifications.
Complete list of changes:
* Use stricter datatype definitions conformant with the XSD and OWL
specifications for better validation.
* Move all project metadata for extensions (e.g. change log) to
separate files to spare hosts from loading them during discovery.
* lv2core: Use consistent label style.
* atom: Fix lv2_atom_object_next() on 32-bit platforms.
* atom: Fix outdated documentation in forge.h.
* atom: Add lv2_atom_object_body_get().
* atom: Add LV2_ATOM_CONTENTS_CONST and LV2_ATOM_BODY_CONST.
* atom: Fix implicit conversions in forge.h that are invalid in C++11.
* atom: Use consistent label style.
* buf-size: Initial release.
* dynmanifest: Use consistent label style.
* event: Use consistent label style.
* event: Use more precise domain and range for EventPort properties.
* event: Remove asserts from event-helper.h.
* event: Make event iterator gracefully handle optional ports.
* midi: Add C definitions for message types and standard controllers.
* midi: Remove non-standard midi:Tick message type.
* midi: Add midi:binding and midi:channel predicates.
* midi: Use consistent label style.
* midi: Add midi:HexByte datatype for status bytes and masks.
* midi: Fix definition of SystemExclusive status byte.
* morph: Initial release.
* options: Initial release.
* parameters: Add parameters.h of URI defines for convenience.
* parameters: Use consistent label style.
* parameters: Add param:sampleRate.
* port-groups: Use consistent label style.
* port-props: Use consistent label style.
* presets: Use consistent label style.
* resize-port: Initial release.
* state: Use consistent label style.
* time: Use consistent label style.
* urid: Fix typo in urid:unmap documentation.
This release is backwards compatible with LV2 1.0.0, though updating is
recommended.
Enjoy,
-dr
This is a maintenance release of guitarix2 with some minor fixes.
Guitarix is a mono tube amplifier simulation for jack, with additional
mono/stereo effect racks which can be filled with some in-build effects
as well as with external LADSPA plugins.
Things that changed in this release:
* fix In "organize" mod copying preset form one bank to the
same one corrupts the bank
* add sse4a (CPU optimization) to wscript
* add treble booster unit
* set osc buffer-size menu to sensitive false when jack buffer
is larger then 1023 to avoid X-runs

Laborejo, Esperanto for "Workshop", is used to craft music through notation.
It is a Lilypond GUI frontend, a MIDI creator and finally a tool collection to inspire and help you compose.
It works by reducing music-redundancy and by seperating layout and data.
Before you read the details make sure to connect to Laborejos Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus!

This is the release of version 0.3
Download: https://github.com/nilsgey/Laborejo/tarball/0.3
Dependencies: http://www.laborejo.org/documentation
Linux Instructions: Unpack, cd into the created directoy, execute:
./laborejo-qt
Then use the number- and cursor keys for immediate success!
Check Help->Manual for navigational and note/rest entry keys. Everything else is in the menus.
New since version 0.2 (highlights):
-Many performance and stability improvements
-Improved Midi performance. Slur ends, tenuto etc.
-Ardour 3 exporter
-Fine control over midi velocity and note durations per note.
-Translation is now possible. A partial German translation is included.
-Lisalo Importer (convenient way to create new files with all jack connections set up already)
-Mirror notes, reverse, shuffle, sort ascending/descending
-The GUI can now open multiple files in tabs.
-Open as template: Use existing save files as templates for new ones. No need for explicit template files. Every file is one.
-Many new Lilypond and GUI functions such as: Auto-Piano staff from a single track (great for arpeggios), piano pedals and many more.
-Convert chord-tracks to single voice tracks
Most important known problems:
* This is Alpha Grade Software. Don't use for long-term work. However, the produced midis and PDFs will last forever.
* There is no built-in jack midi output yet. You have to export midi files.
* Documentation is nearly non-existent.
* Deleting selected objects may result in strange gui behaviour. Nothing a save/reload can't fix for now.
Have fun, it would be nice to hear from you!

I am excited to announce the release of Mixer4 v 1.08 and Waveplayer
1.0.
Waveplayer is a lightweight (16 KB in size) console-based .wav player
using ALSA. It allows you to choose start and stop playback points,
and repeat playback or editing of those points.
Mixer4 is a text based audio mixer and processor which has been in
development for over a year. The current release includes integration
of the Waveplayer so that audio playback can initiate as soon as the
mixfile is built. Preview mode allows efficient processing of portions
of the mix at a time.
Recent work also includes 8 submixes with patchable effects, tempo and
meter mapping, and more user customizations.
Mixer4 packs a lot into 120 KB! The emphasis is on sound quality,
stability, and simplicity.
32 and 64 bit binaries are available here..

Please feel welcome to contact me for support and questions.
Best wishes,

Hi there,
Maybe some of you agree with me, that this has been the longest since
last dot release and the new one with the least brand new features count
being introduced. Aha no big deal I say, the uber-procrastinator is just
roaring its ugly head once more, specially after a beloved summer
vacation season. Whatever.
Qtractor 0.5.6 (golf tango) is now released!
One of the interesting dots, if not the most, is that LV2 State Files
interface implementation, once in a gruesome SNAFU support status, is
now officially over. For the laymen it means that any files, referenced
by those LV2 plug-ins which implement the LV2 State Files interface,
will get righteously bundled to an archive/zip session file (suffix or
extension .qtz), all other cases remain untouched. That should add up
some notches on the session portability and archival ranks and purposes.
Besides, LV2 1.0.0 compliance status is now closed business. I hope.
Moving on, slowly forward...
Release highlights:
* LV2 State Files support (NEW)
* Unused files clean-up removal (NEW)
* Edit/Insert empty range (NEW)
* MIME Document types and icons (NEW)
* Improved plug-in state resilience (FIX)
* French and Japanese translations (NEW)

Change-log:
- The dedicated audio outputs setting for instrument plugins was not in
effect as default global option for new MIDI tracks, now fixed,
hopefully (thanks to danboid aka. Daniel MacDonald persistence).
- An immediate Files widget cleanup option is now made available, as to
select and remove all unused file entries.
- MIDI track (un)solo/mute reset clip event sequence fixing; definite
regression to MIDI track's occasional muting bug while clip editing and
playback is rolling.
- Apologies due on this one: shift/ctrl keyboard modifiers are back in
business to change MIDI events currently selected in one single step
while on MIDI clip editor (aka. piano-roll). Sorry.
- Japanese (ja) translation added (by Takashi Sakamoto).
- General time-scale bar, beat and tempo rounding fixing.
- Keyboard shortcuts configuration (Help/Shortcuts...) now checks and
warns for already assigned key sequences.
- The View/Snap menu is now listed as fully accessible actions, making
each snap-per-beat setting assignable to a keyboard shortcut (after a
feature request by danboid aka. Daniel MacDonald, thanks).
- Fixed MIDI resize tool, now applying symmetric proportional changes to
pitch-bend event values [-8191, +8191].
- Fixed re-loading of LV2 Presets that are newly created/saved during
current session; actually delete and remove a LV2 Preset if found in the
file-system (as suggested by Jiri Prochaszka aka. Anchakor, thanks again).
- Preset drop-down list is now sorted, on plugin properties dialog.
- After a long absence, edit(blue) cursor vertical lines are back on the
MIDI clip editor views (aka. piano-roll).
- LV2 1.0.0 compliance phase II: LV2 State Files support completed.
- Updated to newer LV2 External UI extension support (now maintained by
Filipe Coelho aka. falktx).
- Brand new editing tool: empty range insertion, split/moving clips or
events forward the specified edit-head/tail interval, defaults to next
measure or bar (cf. menu Edit/Insert/Range, Track Range).
- Don't show the waiting cursor anymore when loading any plugins which
might have a nice native editor (GUI) and options are set to show it.
- MIDI clip editor now hopefully rid of random but persistent muting, a
slight regression to editing while playback is rolling.
- A MIDI file player's bug, evident while transport rolling in looped
mode, has been fixed with yet another oneliner patch (kind by Jiri
Prochaszka aka. Anchakor, thanks again).
- LV2 plugins with a Qt4 GUI (guess what or whom?) are now guaranteed to
some reasonable window type like Qt::Widget but not Qt::Dialog nor
Qt::Popup, preventing those from standing always on top while on some
window managers or desktop environments (a simple addition by Jiri
Prochaszka aka. Anchakor, thanks).
- MIME type icons support for session (*.qtr *.qtr), template (*.qtt)
and zip/archive (*.qtz) are now being introduced.
- LV2 State Files feature support is shamelessly getting real trial, now
letting files referenced in LV2 plugin states to be seamlessly included
when saving to a zip/archive file bundle (.qtz suffix). Added some
virtual destructor stubs to shut up gcc 4.7 warnings.
- Improved plugin state resilience, now finally with parameter name
matching, specifically targeted on loading old sessions or plugin preset
files (.qtx), preserving old saved plugin states as much as possible in
face of rogue or discrete parameter index renumbering, due naturally on
any plugin's life cycle ie. upgrades etc.;)
- Added some more snap-to-beat divisors (Beat/14, /21 and /28) due on
feature request ticket, while dropping highest, probably useless one
(Beat/128).
- New French (fr) translation added (by Yann Collette, thanks).
- Slight late optimization on vertical zebra/grid lines drawing.
Enjoy!
