The first unified LV2 release, LV2 1.0.0, is out.
This release merges the previous lv2core package with all the official
extension packages, as well as example plugins, lv2specgen, and
additional data. From a developer point of view, the biggest change is
that all LV2 API headers can be used by simply checking for the single
pkg-config package "lv2" (for compatibility the previous "lv2core"
package is still installed). Implementations are encouraged to abandon
the "copy paste headers" practice and depend on this package instead.
With this release, several new extensions have become stable that
together greatly increase the power of LV2: atom, log, parameters,
patch, port-groups, port-props, resize-port, state, time, worker.

Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard is a MIDI events generator and receiver. It
doesn't produce any sound by itself, but can be used to drive a MIDI
synthesizer (either hardware or software, internal or external). You can use
the computer's keyboard to play MIDI notes, and also the mouse. You can use
the Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard to display the played MIDI notes from
another instrument or MIDI file player.
Changes for v0.5.0:
* RtMidi 1.0.15 patched by Gilles Filippini <pini(a)debian.org> enabling
several MIDI drivers to be compiled at once, and allowing the user to select
one at runtime.
* Fixed Bug #3507732. Transpose does not update correctly the octave in note
name. Thanks to Patrick Meaney for the bug report
* Fixed Bug #3503768. Removing the shortcut for an action having default
shortcut keys, the change is not saved upon exit, so the shortcut appears
again the next execution.
* Fixed Bug #3502659. Saved preferences not set correctly.
* New implementation of the Network MIDI driver (UDP multicast).
* MIDI channel state enforcement (RFE #3517750)
* MIDI IN Omni mode.
* Independently enable/disable note input using keyboard, mouse, and touch
screen.
* Note highlight color policies (single, double, one color for each MIDI
channel, one color for each grade in the chromatic scale). Color palettes
editor dialog. Option to show a colorized scale.
* XML comments within keyboard map files are allowed.
Requirements for all platforms: CMake-2.8 and Qt-4.8 or later.

and comments. Thanks.

name and it's take number
- Use cmake's own FindPythonLibs module instead of pkgconfig to detect Python

MusE 2.0 June 30, 2012
Hello everybody! Finally it has happened, nearly two years from the
last stable release we are ready to present to you the final MusE 2.0

* Redone midi editing tool dialogs with lots of new functionality
* Lots and lots and lots of internal small and big changes to improve
stability, speed and functionality
* PSIIF support (support for: probably something important I forgot)
A much condensed list of changes since the last beta are as follows:
- Sync fix: MusE now records tempo changes from externally clocked midi.
- Finally! Audio controller playback has smooooth frame resolution
even with large audio buffers.
- Feature: Midi control of audio paramters.
- Lots of automation improvements
- Switched to use JACK midi
- Added: -A switch: "Force inclusion of ALSA midi even if using Jack".
- Lots of leaks removed
- Added colorhints to iR and oR routing buttons
- Templates: File dialog: Lots of changes
- Lots of widget focus fixes
- Allow loading of DSSI synths in LADSPA browser.
- Midi editors: Added "Delta Mode" button to Note Info toolbar.

MusE 2.0alpha
Hello everybody, we have a present for you, a new release of MusE.
The alpha indicates this is an early version so it's mainly
- a teaser to spread the word.
- an early adopters build.
- to welcome developers who want to port MusE to other platforms.
MusE has now been completely ported to the Qt4 architecture and we
(mainly Tim and Orcan)
are busy to make it even better than before, lots of gui stuff being reworked.
MusE now also sports a new version of the DeicsOnze, DX11 emulating
softsynth, up from version 0.2 to 1.0.
The homepage has received a new look that we hope will give a better
indication of what MusE is and does.
Do visit http://muse-sequencer.org.

Apologies for x-posting...
It's been a busy summer--pd-l2ork
<http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/?page_id=56>has been making big strides
towards becoming a robust full-fledged digital signal processing tool.
The latest version includes revolutionary preset_hub and preset_node
system that supports a wide range of data types as well as abstractions.
It is essentially Pd's counterpart toMax's pattrstorage
<http://cycling74.com/docs/max5/refpages/max-ref/pattrstorage.html>.
We've also squashed dozens of bugs and clean-ups making pd-l2ork better
than ever.
Perhaps the most exciting improvement involves Pd-L2Ork'sK12 module
<http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/?p=1964>geared towards elementary,
middle, and high school students. The new version has over 40
objects/abstractions, allowing students to seamlessly interact with both
Wiimotes andSARC iteration of Arduino Uno devices (a.k.a. Sarcduino
firmware) <http://www.musicsensorsemotion.com/2010/03/08/sarcduino/>.
And this very version together with 15 L2Ork stations is being used this
week by more than 30 middle-school students as part of the inauguralICAT
K12 Maker Workshop <http://www.icat.vt.edu/> taking place in Virginia
Tech Institute for Creativity, Arts & Technology's Studio 1. So, head on
over to the L2Ork's software page
<http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/?page_id=56>and check out what the
latest version of pd-l2ork is all about ;-)
Best wishes,

jack_capture
============
jack_capture is a program for recording soundfiles with jack.
The default operation of the program is executed by writing
"jack_capture" in the terminal without any extra command line options:
$ jack_capture
...which will record what you hear in your loudspeakers into a stereo
wav file.

We are happy to share the following announcement with you,
setBfree v0.5.0 was just released under GPLv2.
setBfree is a MIDI-controlled, software synthesizer designed to imitate
the sound and properties of the electromechanical organs and sound
modification devices that brought world-wide fame to the names and
products of Laurens Hammond and Don Leslie.
Homepage: http://setBfree.org

Will Panther succeeded where others have failed and made it possible to
adopt Fredrik Kilander's Beatrix in terms of the GPL. We have spent the
last weeks to update the code-base to meet requirements and are happy to
announce a first beta version.
The organ and effects as are available as LV2 plugins as well as a
standalone JACK application. We've reworked the engine to allow
arbitrary sample-rates, standardized interfaces, fixed various bugs,
added a build-system, man-pages, a simple GUI for testing, etc.
The sound is still pretty much the same as the original awesome Beatrix.
Next steps include adding end-user documentation, tweaking and honing
the synth-engine and fixing the bugs that you discover :)
This release features contributions from
Fredrik Kilander, Ken Restivo, Will Panther and Robin Gareus.
For discussion please use the linux-audio-user list, bug reports should
to the issue-tracker at github.
Feedback of any kind is welcome.
have fun,
robin & Will
xfmr-plugins-0.0.1 has been released. At present it contains one
LADSPA plugin, an anti-aliased transformer distortion emulator
intended to be used on the master bus when mixing in a DAW such
as Ardour.
I made it for my own use, in order to get closer to the sound of
an analogue mix without the extra round trip through the DA-AD
converters. Hopefully others may find it useful. License is GPL v2.
