Dear all, here is QMidiArp 0.6.5. Another year has passed, and qmidiarp again only slightly changes, improves, adapts itself. A few more factory patterns were added to the Arpeggiator, a new "As Played" repeat mode has sneaked in, and for making things easier the MIDI OMNI mode is now default when modules are added. QMidiArp also builds against Qt5 by default now (it's about time ;) ), no more --enable-qt5 needed at configure stage. Enjoy! Frank -------------- Here is the full changelog: qmidiarp-0.6.5 (2017-12-17) *Improvements* o MIDI OMNI Mode receiving on all MIDI channels is now available and even default for all modules. o Arp: Some more 'factory' patterns added to the LV2 presets and to the .qmidiarprc file. Latter requires deleting the original one in the home directory and launching the standalone application. o Arp: New pattern repeat mode "As Played" for following the played note order instead of reorganizing them up, down or random. o Arp: For deliberately clearing buffered incoming notes the modules now all react to ALL_NOTES_OFF and ALL_SOUND_OFF MIDI messages. o LV2: The DSP ("generic") parameter interface has gotten some improvements for better usability (thanks Holger Wirtz for input on this) *Fixed Bugs* o LV2: Latch mode was not working properly when using release function. o LV2 Arp: when running with host transport sync, transport start caused received notes to be cleared. This also cleared those notes received before the transport was starting and led to missed notes especially in qtractor. This should work better now. (Thanks to Webmadman for reporting, and to Rui). o Seq and LFO: the "Note Off" option had no effect (regression). o Recent Files menu in main app displayed extra characters with Qt5. *General changes* o Building against Qt5 is now default. No more --enable-qt5 needed. o LV2: Category set to MIDIPlugin instead of Instrument o The DSP classes including the LV2 DSP modules no longer use Qt libraries. rkr-lv2 beta 2

Without much pomp and circumstance, I'd like to notify you of the immediate availability of rkr-lv2 beta 2. Requested in behalf of packagers everywhere, this is just to officially release the many bugfixes that have been applied and contributed since beta 1. Unfortunately there is probably as many (or more) still lurking so this is still very much beta software. No progress in the midi front, though this does add the noise gate plugin (which was contributed). Many thanks to all who contributed bug reports, code, or even just appreciation. Unfortunately this project has a lot of competition for my time and attention and so it has not progressed as much as I wish it had (none of my projects have been getting much). It was decided that since no new maintainer of standalone rakarrack has stepped up, some major refactoring is in order and eventually a rkrv2 will be created which will offer the same effects but with some API breaking streamlining in the codebase. It will likely be some time before I embark on that endeavor. I expect rkr-lv2 in its current API preserved form will still exist, but it may always be a buggy quirky collection. Hi all, New images are ready for testing (amd64, i386) ;) io GNU/Linux is a Live DVD/USB based on Debian Sid and focused on multimedia. -> Kernel 4.14 and 4.14-rt1, Jack2+PulseAudio as default sound server (can be easily changed to Jack2+AlsaLoop, Jack2+ZitaBridge, PulseAudio or Alsa) -> Enlightenment (e22) as desktop environment and a big collection of installed software... Zynaddsubfx 3.0.3 - The “She Scanned” Release 4 Dec 2017 There are lots of improvements in the code that need to get in your computer/DAW! Let’s have a release! This is mostly a bugfix release, making Zyn a smoother and more stable audio design/music making experience. Especially notable the preset and session file loading has been cleaned up and polished, now including a search in the legacy fltk UI version. Another cool new feature is using more of your computer cores (if available) to generate the padsynth wavetables so you can hear the results of your tweaking much sooner (not yet available on windows). Many causes of crashes were fixed for both Zyn-Fusion users and users of the legacy UI. Finally, we are very pleased to announce that this is the last release before the free licensing of the zyn-fusion UI source code. In fulfilment of our promised dedication to open source and free-licensed software, this month we expect to have everything fully converted to MIT or GPL license and publicly available. This marks the end of the “fundraiser” portion of the open-source-eventually scheme, attempting to finance the full time work that allowed the completion of zyn-fusion. Binaries for those who don’t want to build from source will still be available for sale for a modest (not yet determined) price which will continue to fund bug fixes and new features. [ANN] Qtractor 0.8.5 - The Autumn'17 Release!

Hello! While this Fall still lasts... and before the New Year/Sun cycle comes in and sure will goes out... And then there is the time when a couple of things that most may find well, badly interesting: one it's primarily and visually evident and adds up as an UI/UX thingy, while the other may land way more beyond the scenes, not so obviously perhaps, but having an impact on the short and not so short but long run. You tell me. Truth is: Qtractor 0.8.5 (autumn'17) os now released! The short list is, or better yet, there are these: * File-system browser/tree-view (NEW) * Out-of process/cache plugin scan (ALL plugin types, not just Linux-VST anymore) And the not so short list but quite the same information (aka. change-log): - Audio clip gain and panning properties are now taken into consideration when hash-linking (aka. ref-counting) their back-end buffers. - New out-of-process plug-in inventory scan and cache option, replacing the old (aka. dummy) VST plug-in scan option and extending its function to all other plug-in types: LADSPA, DSSI and also LV2 (cache only). - A File System browser and tree-view is finally integrated as a dockable-widget on the main application window (cf. main menu View / Window / File System).</li> - Drag-and-dropping of session, audio and MIDI files over the main track-list (left pane) is now possible, allowing for yet another quick means to open a new session or add new tracks to the current session. - MIDI input/capture time-stamping has been fixed as much to avoid missing inbound events, when play-head is near the loop-end point and the loop-start is set below the absolute first half-a-second (<0.5sec). - LV2 Time/Transport speed information is now set on rolling when in audio export aka freewheeling mode. - Added *.SF3 to soundfont instrument files filter, on View > Instruments... > Import... file dialog. - A brand new View/Options.../Display/Meters/Show meters on track list/left pane option has been added. Description: Qtractor [1] is an audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt framework [2]. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK [3]) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA [4]) for MIDI are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio. Guitarix release 0.36.1 Guitarix is a tube amplifier simulation for jack (Linux), with an additional mono and a stereo effect rack. Guitarix includes a large list of LV2 and LADSPA plugins, and support LADSPA / LV2 plugs as well in it's racks. The guitarix engine is designed for LIVE usage, and feature ultra fast, glitch and click free preset switching and is full Midi and remote controllable (the Web UI is not included in the distributed tar ball).
