[LAA] Qtractor 1.5.9 - A Halloween'25 Release

Hello everyone, Qtractor 1.5.9 (halloween'25) is out! Change-log: - Main menu and toolbar Edit/Select Mode/Clip, Range, Rectangle and Automation actions are now self-toggled when triggered. - Slightly better positioning and centering when just clicking but not dragging the main and MIDI editor thumb-views around. - Mixer: temporarily hide/show either Audio or MIDI buses, from the respective Inputs and/or Outputs rack pane. - Add underlying platform name (eg. xcb, wayland) to Qt version string. Description: Qtractor [1] is an audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application written in C++ with the Qt framework [2]. Target platform is Linux, where the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK [3]) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA [4]) for MIDI are the main infrastructures to evolve as a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home-studio. [LAA] Brickworks 1.4.0 and new/updated Brickworks Pro algorithms released

Hi all! We are glad to announce that we released version 1.4.0 of Brickworks, the music DSP toolkit that supplies you with the fundamental building blocks for creating and enhancing audio engines on any platform, as well as new and updated algorithms from Brickworks Pro, our collection of advanced DSP modules. Here's a short list of changes for Brickworks 1.4.0: * Added new sampler algorithm and related new example plugin. * Added new math routines. * Added coefficient validation functions to bw_iir1 and bw_iir2. * Simplified and improved C++ APIs, which now allow for external memory allocation. * Refreshed example plugins and updated their build system. * Tons of bug fixes, smaller improvements, and polish. Brickworks is fully free/open source software (GPLv3 license) and we also offer commercial licenses. This time we didn't just update all Brickworks Pro algorithms to take advantage of the latest improvements in Brickworks 1.4.0, but also: * Released a new digital model of the Moog® ladder filter with separated outputs. * Released a new digital model of the Moog® Minimoog® Model D VCA. * Released a new major version of the bwp_arp arpeggiator algorithm widely extending its functionality and featuring a fully revamped API and implementation. * Released a new major version of the bwp_trig periodic trigger algorithm with support for swing and explicit phase setting. * Released a new major version of the bwp_env_gen envelope generator algorithm with new attack/decay hold phases (so now it's DAHDSHR), loop mode, hold phase skip and first delay phase skip options, fixed vs variable-length attack phase, advanced sustain modulation, and enlarged maximum phase duration (up to 600 seconds). * Released new major versions of the bwp_osc_pulse pulse oscillator waveshaper algorithm and bwp_osc_pulse_tri triangle oscillator waveshaper algorithm featuring advanced pulse width/slope modulation. * Released a new minor version of the bwp_hold note hold algorithm with a new latch mode. * Released a new minor version of the bwp_note_track pressed note tracker algorithm with a new function to add all pressed notes to a note queue. * Released a new minor version of the bwp_phase_gen phase generator algorithm with swing support and external phase syncing. * Released a new minor version of the bwp_voice_alloc voice allocator algorithm with a new one-note unison fill mode and a new function to expose the internal pressed note tracker. * Applied tons of bug fixes, smaller improvements, and polish. [LAA] Rivendell v4.4.1

On behalf of the entire Rivendell development team, I'm pleased to announce the availability of the next production release of Rivendell, 4.4.1. Rivendell is a full-featured radio automation system targeted for use in professional broadcast environments. It is available under the GNU General Public License version 2. From the 'NEWS' file: *** snip snip *** Changes: Installer fixes. Fixed a problem that could cause generation of a new database to be corrupt. RDAlsaConfig applet. Overhauled the applet to better handle situations involving multiple PCMs on a single ALSA card. Various bug fixes. See the ChangeLog. Database Update: This version of Rivendell uses database schema version 376, and will automatically upgrade any earlier versions. To see the current schema version prior to upgrade, do 'sudo rddbmgr'.
