Dear Linux Audio Musicians and Developers, I'm happy to release today *TourManager* 1.0.0. (GPL) This is not an audio application, but a tool for musicians (and more) to organize gigs and shows. Since it is really musician-related, I think it might be of interest to this group. If not, please excuse this email. Description: TourManager is a tool to help artists, musicians, bookers, and event managers with the organization of shows and events. TourManager wants to be simple and powerful, and it has a lot of tools to help organize your shows efficiently. It has a map to show your venues, a travel costs calculator, notes, statistics, links to locate addresses and get directions, it can generate calendar files for your favorite calendar application, export the upcoming shows into html, and many more useful tools. It will definitely reduce the boring tasks, making the booking processes enjoyable, and even bring multi-user cooperation! I have been using it for a long time, I have more than 160 shows and 150 venues in my database! Finally, I achieved to reach version 1.0.0, which is now available :) I wish you a lot of good organization work with it, plenty of new gigs for the year 2026 and hope it will help you as much as it helps me. [LAA] A-SID 1.2.0 and Brickworks Pro 8580 SID filter released

We are glad to announce a new release of our A-SID plugin with a more realistic sound engine and a good deal of fixes (especially for nasty crashes on Windows when clicking on web links) and polish. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and, as appropriate, graduate courses with an emphasis on engineering technology for applications in music and audio, including topics such as audio signal processing, human-computer interaction, user interface design, embedded and real-time systems, software development, measurement and analysis, and spatial audio. The ideal candidate will lead the development of new courses and learning experiences in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for audio and music platforms. The faculty member will maintain an active research and/or creative agenda commensurate with tenure expectations, mentor students, contribute to recruitment and outreach, and collaborate across AAD and with campus partners such as the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT). Virginia Tech’s Music Technology area is growing and features advanced studio and lab resources supporting spatial audio (e.g., 7.1.4 Atmos-capable monitoring, 24.2 Dante), critical listening, acoustics, and project-based learning. The program offers multiple degree pathways and hands-on experiences, providing the environment for engineering-forward pedagogy and research that bridges the arts and technology. Specific duties and responsibilities of the position include: Teaching: Offer courses across the music-technology curriculum with emphasis on engineering technology. Supervise capstones, applied research, and technical practicums. AI/ML Curriculum Leadership: Lead the design and delivery of courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning for audio and music platforms (e.g., MIR, machine listening, deep learning for audio, dataset curation/ethics, responsible generative practices) and integrate AI across the curriculum. Research & Creative Activity: Sustain a nationally visible research/creative agenda in music engineering technology; disseminate through peer-reviewed publications, performances/installations, releases, software/hardware artifacts, and grant-seeking.
